We are dressing up as the "50's" family. Very casual so if we get one of those hot and muggy Florida nights we won't melt.

I've ordered poodle skirt outfits from Annie's Poodle Skirts on line for the girls. They are the cutest outfits. Mom, Grandpa and Myself are just wearing "50's" clothing.

If it's a cool night long sleeve shirts under, if it's a warm night were all set. I expect it to be warm, but you never know with Florida.

Were you guys in the parade on October 21st?? I saw a group people dressing up in 50's gear on the double decker bus in the late parade and I remembered someone here saying their family was dressing up.

October 16 - We saw your husband!!! Did he take the wig off at the end of the night near the exit to the left side of Main Street? I totally remember that purple toga!!!!

It's just funny when you recognize someone/something in that kind of crowd -it makes the world smaller....

Yes he did. He took it off just before we left the park. Did you see us in the parade at 8 pm? We got to be Grand Marshalls. We would love to find some pictures.

OK...I'm on the fence about dressing up for the party of 10/31. I would need to buy a costume for me and my daughter. I would love to dress as Cruella! Is it worth the money. Can I have as much fun without dressing? I have been looking for some used costumes on-line, for sale etc. Let me know your thoughts from the people who have just got back. Thanks so much. :earsboy:

We did 2 parties. We dressed up for the first party and had a blast. We were selected for Grand Marshals in the parade and everyone commented on our costumes. People even asked to have their photos taken with us. The second party we all wore matching shirts and hats. We had fun, but It was more rides that night. If you want the "halloween spirit" type of fun, wear a costume. If you just want to get some candy and ride the rides don't bother wearing a costume. If you want an inexpensive costume go to a local thrift store. You can always find items there to throw together a costume. Use your imagination. Here is a photo of my son in his wolfman costume which he will be wearing for Halloween here.

The shirt and pants came as is from our local thrift store. I made the hat and shoes out of faux fur and bought the nose and a pair of work gloves. It was very simple to put together and didn't cost $20 for the whole thing. There are always prom dresses and wedding dresses available. You could easily put together a grave digger costume from a thrift store.

That is awesome that your family was selected for Grand Marshals. Your son's costume is great! I am definetly going to dress just have to get my creative juices flowing. I think being dressed will add to the Halloween spirit. Now to try and convice my 20 yr. old to get in the spirit!

If anyone else has some simple, inexpensive ideas I would love to hear 'em! :Pinkbounc

Just wanted to post a pic of the nine of us in our Halloween costumes. We went as Disney pirates.

We had a blast at the party and got tons of attention in these vests. We must have had at least 100 people stop and compliment us! We also got special pictures taken and had a lot of fun dancing with the singing pirates by POC. The individual pics are cool too but I don't have those available yet.

My MIL had the striped shirt and made a red Smee hat and wore her reading glasses. Smee fussed over her everytime he saw her!

Here are my kids just as the party started. Next year DH and I will be dressed up too! :flower:

Bumping up this great thread from 2005, so hopefully we can get some more fantastic costume ideas for this year's party!

I was going to wear my Malificient costume, but I think it will be a bit much for Florida in Oct....but, perhaps just the headpiece and maybe black shorts and an appropriate tee shirt....hmmm, wonder what I can put on a teeshirt that ties Malificient to MNSSHP? Dd, who will be just 13 then, is going as Tink!!

We've gone as the Pink Ladies for the last two years. But this year we're all going as Disney Ladies. So I'm using my Minnie costume from a few years ago. We'll have Cinderella, Belle, Cruella, Lilo, Jesse, Tink and a few others. :goodvibes

Well, my sister and I went last year and since were twins, naturally we dressed up as none other than TWEEDLE DEE AND TWEEDLE DUM! We looked so cute!

...Even though this is a Unverisal thing, my sis and I plan on dressing up as THING ONE AND THING TWO this year!

We are going this year 2007- (October 14th) as

WIll Turner and Elizabeth from the END of the month. When he visits her on the beach.. oh yeah!! I will post photos once the costume are done :)

Jess

:cloud9: Going to Disney Oct 10th!!!
