I think if you are going to go to MNSSHP, go ahead and be a kid and dress up. I thought some ideas posted might encourage all to give dressing up a chance.
I'll start off with a few.

Baseball Player- Buy your favorite jersey and hat.

Crayon- your favorite color t-shirt, write crayola on the front, purchase flexible foam board for the craft store and make a pointed hat. Finish it up with same color shorts or pants. (great for a group)

Army/ Military- Go to army surplus and buy camo t-shirt and dog tags

Doctor/nurse- scrubs can be purchased at Walmart or found usually near a hospital at a supply store.

Vampire- cape and teeth

How about a witch
Pointed hat, cape,& broom.

Last year my husband went as a bee and I went as a flower in a pot (brown skirt for the pot, blue sweatshirt with stem and leaves sewn on and headband with flower pedals all over). We won a prize for best costume!

Be a pirate! With the Pirates of the Carribbean movie out, you'll be sure to get lots of attention.

-Captain Jack Sparrow

My husband and I used to love to dress up for Halloween. Here are some favs:

Scarecrow and crow

Velma and Shaggy

Lennie and Squiggy (I was Squiggy)

Boris and Natasha (I would be Boris - can you sense our height difference?)

My personal all time favorite costume is the following:

One person dressed as Elvis surrounded by people dressed in black with black sunglasses (ie. Elvis and the Secret Service).

This year DH & I are going as Mousekeeters. We wanted something that wasn't hot or hard to move around in.
DS is dressing as a pirate.

I went out as satine the year moulin Rouge came out and last year was Dru(with a friend as Spike)

Just because it's the DisBoards, and you all have been so nice, I'll post my absolute best costume of all time. It's won many awards, and become something of a tradition. (I have an even better new idea, so I'm retiring this one.)

Put on an old pair of jeans, cowboy boots, a colorful country shirt (the hardest part to find) and a giant belt buckle if you've got one. Then add black gloves, a black cape, and your best menacing walk.

TA-DA! You're GARTH VADER!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Nobody will get it just from looking at you. They'll know you're something kooky, and they'll come up and ask you, fully expecting a funny answer, lol. The absolute best part (which takes a little practice, because if you crack up while doing it you'll ruin it): after you introduce yourself as Garth Vader (or Darth Brooks, whichever you like best), you launch into a breathy, low, "I've got friends in *long, rattling, nasty Darth Vader "hhhhhhwhhhw" breath* places..."

Okay this sounds easy enough. What do you wear though? (sadly I am not really old enough to remember the MMC LOL). I saw shirts at the Disney Store that say "Mickey Mouse Club" on them the other day though...That with some pants and ears?
