any news on Panama City?

I haven't seen anything specific to Panama City, but I hope the storm was weakened enough that when it went up through northern Florida, more towards Gainesville, it didn't have enough to it to hit the panhandle. They have enough to worry about from Ivan.

Never lost power, but we lost cable. Downed Fence in our yard allot of downed tree branches and allot of clean up to do.

We live in West Palm Beach and faired ok..No power/phones or sewer but my mom lives South of us and so we have a place to stay. No damage to the apartment ( we have shutters ) but we can't go home..I am very thankful we still have a home!

We are OK....I don't really want to go into our water damage, because it makes me extremely sick and depressed. But my Florida friend's dad, Richard Warren of Port Saint Lucie, needs your prayers....I posted on the prayers and pixie dust thread.

Lots of downed trees/power lines up here.

1 tornado yesterday. No injuries, thankfully.

Lots of power outages. My house has power. My DW's Veterinarian practice does not.

No damage to the old homestead, but we have 2 trees leaning across the driveway (which is 500' long) and are hung up in the power lines and are arcing and burning.

FP&L has said they do not know when they will be there to cut them off the lines. Hopefully they won't pull the lines down.

I fear that the ground near the trees is energized, and we have to go UNDER the trees to get to the house. Guess we will have to find another way in.

Bummer. But at least everyone is healthy & undamaged.

Here in Delray Beach with no power still - it went out at 9 PM Saturday night. Had a small generator (brand new) that worked for at least 8 hours or more yesterday then for some reason it stopped giving power - the motor still ran but nothing plugged into it had power - and I must have read the manual a million times trying to figure it out!! And it doesn't need to be reset because we did that a million times too. Hopefully power will be restored soon because we just got it back 2 weeks ago after Frances (after being out a week) I can't take it that long again. I hope we don't EVER have to go through this again.

With Jeanne it seemed the wind howled stronger than with Frances. With Frances we didn't hear any howling wind inside the house but that wasn't so with Jeanne - Even though we have plywood on all the windows the curtians in the front were still moving back and forth - it was pretty scary. Thankfully no damage to the house or any trees - Frances took care of that.

Hey TTP - We live in Boynton...we are without power still..here at work in Pompano, everything is normal...weird! I hope we get it back soon...We live across from a fire station and a school and still were without power for a week after Frances..

Ans I agree....Jeanne sounded sooooo much worse!

DisneyDumbNut - we got our power back last night as well. Sometime between 11PM and midnight. Woke up around midnight and realized it was on!!

Checking in from Melbourne...my house did great. Jeanne finished off a couple trees that Frances damaged. One section of our fence blew in again, but once again DH was able to fix it. The mainland in Melbourne seemed to have faired pretty well. I went only 15 hours without power. There doesn't seem to be the mad scramble for food and gas like after Frances. South of Melbourne and the beaches had it much, much worse though.

We kept our power this time (unlike Frances) but lost our cable/internet service for two days...it was on again when I woke up this morning!

My parents and lots of our friends are without power. 35 of our public schools are either without power or suffered some sort of structural damage, so school was cancelled today for the second day in a row. We're waiting to hear if they will reopen tomorrow. the few times I've driven anywhere, there are lots of traffic lights not working, so it takes extra time to go anywhere.
