I am having a hard time deciding if I want to use Disney's sand ceremony jars or not. I've seen some pics and it does not look like it even fills up the jar and I kind of want a jar that is filled so it does not just end up mixing together if moved too much.. Does anyone have pics of their jars that are from Disney and pics of jars that are not from Disney and where you got them. I would really like a jar that has a lid on it.

Thanks :)

Here is mine. Its from Disney. You don't get to keep the two side single containers they only give you the one in the middle. I was thinking of fixing it up a bit because its kind of boring. The sand really didn't move around too much but I had my mom drive it home with her.

I ordered the same sand ceremony as Sandy and I really love it. Here it is at home. I took the picture with my phone, sorry for the poor quality.

Thanks for the site! This is a perfect kit. I am going to have to order one for my DCL VR. :thumbsup2

Okay... I like the kensington ones, can someone tell me how many colors you usually use? Why are more than two colors used?

thanks

Most people only use two, however I have seen 3 used as well. A neutral color is poured in by the parents first to symbolize a foundation of love, or white used to symbolize Christ. When you get into more than 3 often times that is either blended families or couples who already have children coming into the marriage. It symbolizes the family coming together as one. That's how I've been led to understand it...

I've also seen more then 2 used for a vow renewal with kids. or a blending marriage

thanks for the pics and the info, i went ahead and ordered mine through kensington, in my opinion the heart one looks a lot better than the disney one.

Can someone who bought the heart one tell me how well it travels?? Did you just take it on the plane with you? Does the lid stay on good?

Thanks :)

I traveled with my sand ceremony in my carry on suitcase. I wrapped each individual piece in bubble wrap and them wrapped them in my clothes. The kit comes with a foamy stopper that you can use to keep the sand from moving around. This would only work if the container is filled to the top so buy extra sand to fill up any empty space.

Don't bother bringing the glass stopper with you because its just for looks. It just sits on top of the bottle and if turned upside down, it would fall out. So save the glass stopper for when you bring the completed jar home.

I ordered two things of sands with my order, is that going to be enough to fill the entire heart??

thanks

The website says, "The central bottle will accommodate approximately 3 lbs of sand"

The website says the bags of sand are 17.6 ounces

17.6 ounces = 1.1 pounds

X2= 2.2lbs

So going off that, no, two bags is not enough.

Sorry - just saw your question. I actually bought 4 bags just to be safe because I really wanted jar to be filled to the top. I believe it took 3 bags to fill it up. So just order one more bag of either color and you should be fine.

Where did you get the dome for your castle cake topper?? I have been looking and looking for something to cover ours.

Love the heart shaped holder. We did the candle lighting ceremony and as our ceremony was outside in Epcot (Italy) we could not light our candle - the wind kept blowing it out. This is the one thing I would change about our ceremony.

I bought it on a website called now-and-forever, just put cake dome in the search field. Just be aware that the dome isn't exactly a perfect fit but it does the job.

AWWWWW i love this idea!! I have a little girl that i'm making my DF marry as well so that would be perfect we could all do it together!!! :) Just as a side note....if you are getting married at Disney why not steal some of there white sand by the wedding pavillon? Hey at least it will be somthing from where you are from? just a thought!!!

We had the "nesting" Sand Ceremony set.

It came with a stopper for easy travel and then I took it out when we got home. It's really a nice and sleek set! :thumbsup2
