Our hospital allows our staff to be on the prn roster. Prn means "as needed" in medical terms. Some hospitals call it float or registry positions. Our prn staff get to sign up when they want and they can do it in 4 hour shifts.

That way you are not working the whole 8 hour shift. Also, since you are not regularly scheduled you get a bit more pay on the hour. Wonder if hospitals near you do that ariel 75 :confused3
it's worth checking that out :thumbsup2

the only problem that i have is that i'm a single parent and i would only like to work term time. My son has some special needs and i would not leave him with anybody else (he don't cope too well with change).
Trying to get a job like that is a no no without doing shift work :sad2:

That would make it hard. I know you'll find a job that will fit your needs and what you desire to do. I'm sure your son is a sweetheart. I don't cope well with change either.

so has everybody's day got off to a good start

:sunny:

My day is starting off great! It's clear skies and going to be near 80, and everybody here is finally getting over their colds, and I'm talking to wonderful people on the smilie board. What else can I ask?
