Hi. I know that most pjs contain engagement stories but I though that it would be nice to have them all in one place. I am not engaged but I love reading the stories and it would help out people looking to pop the question at Disney or elsewhere :goodvibes

My husband popped the question with a fortune cookie! He removed the stock paper slip and inserted his personal message back in - said it took him forever! I didnt have the heart to tell him you could buy them on the internet. It was very sweet!

I work at a certain historic town where I live *cough cough* and at that point worked in the costume department. Evan had been planning to surprise me by showing up at a big fireworks event we have every year when I was working outside (he was in SC for Navy school at that point). Well, my friends managed to convince him that I would be expecting it. I was.
So, instead, they worked out a grand scheme for the following weekend. My friend Erin would suggest we all go to a 18th c. dance program they sometimes put on in the evenings. Evan would drive up secretly from SC the night before and stay at their house. I would, of course, agree to go not knowing they had not only worked the whole thing out with the dance group (most of which are my friends as well) so that he would be escorted in at the end of the program, but also working it out with the head of the costume department to borrow an 18th c. suit! I definitely didn't see it coming and it even took me a few seconds to realize who he was! I had been wondering why my friends had been drinking so much at the Christmas party that night, why they were so quiet, and why the dance group had put on their fanciest clothes for a normal night....
Afterwards I found out that pretty much everyone where I worked knew about it, so how they managed to keep it a secret I'll never know!

We had mentioned it a few times but I thought nothing of it because he needed to buy a car badly bc his was on it's way out. I figured, being the practical person I am, that a car came before a ring :)

He ended up buying a car in February of 2009 and we had a vacation planned for my spring break from work, I'm a teacher.

3 weeks before the cruise I find out that Danny was at my house, while I was at work, helping my mom set up a few things, this didn't strike me as strange because my mom is disabled and usually needs some help with even simple tasks. A week before the cruise I'm trying to get my clothes together and packed when my mom comes in and starts grilling me about what I'm wearing every night at dinner. I explain to her that in order to pack light I only packed dresses and lightweight items, but mostly my suitcase was going to consist of dresses. She started going through every dress making sure it was nice enough. Now this struck me as odd, our last cruise she didn't even care what I packed. Why now?

Well, come 2 days before the cruise and she's ordering me to make sure I make myself up everynight, like full on makeup! I'm like, Whaaaaaat? I hardly ever make myself up so I understand where she was coming from but again, why?

All these things struck me as odd but I just shrugged it off because I was excited to just go on vacation!!

Well, Captain's night comes, we were in Nassau during the day and it wiped me out so I napped through the Captain's cocktail hour but Danny went. Come to find out he's telling our friends who we were vacationing with that he's planning on proposing!! Apparently he's so nervous he's downing free drinks left and right, haha!

I make it to dinner, they're not there yet so I sit. They finally arrive and we all get down to eating the delicious food. I'm pretty oblivious to most things so when our friends start acting strange I just brushed it off. Well I turn around and Danny is telling me that he has an important question to ask me and he's out of his seat and down on one knee before I even realize what's happening. He asks me to marry him, I cry and even before I say yes I'm laughing and telling him he's so stupid, then I nod and of course say yes!

Now I know why my mom was insistent that I get dressed and wear make up! HA!

There's a video of the proposal in my PJ!

Here's my story since I am still debating about starting a PJ.

I got engaged in Sept. 09, but here's everything that leads up to it. As you will see my finance is a joker. We have been dating almost six years, and been talking about marriage for 5 years. He's a pc geek and a future social worker. :goodvibes

Back at the end of July, my best friend got engaged and I was to be in the wedding. Well it was a quickie bc her DH was going overseas soon for the war. So I was on a mission to find a CHEAP purple bridesmaid dress. Now DF and I were visit friends and family in Miami and my FMIL when this happened and she drove me all over the Miami area to find a dress. We did evenutally at JCPennys, yay. Well durning that time, he's "baby", car, broke down and he sold it. Little did I know he saw this as a sign. He's been wanting to buy the ring for sometime now, but held off due my father's wishes, but decided why not since he had the money. The day I was out looking for that purple dress, he went out with his best friend looking at rings. They went all over Miami and eventually ended up getting a vintage looking band at a whole sale jeweler. (It reminds me of my great-grandmother's) Later that day he was so lovely and I didn't know why but dismissed the whole notion he was acting weird. (Side note- his parents are divorced and remarried/in relationships.) Next day he went to his dad's and his step mom was so excited to hear that we were going to get engaged, she offered to give him a diamond from her family ring to be used as the center stone. :lovestruc:lovestruc How Cool is that!
Well, that center stone his stepmom gave turns out that the diamond is over a 120yrs and is a miner's cut. It's not quite a round diamond or a square cut. It's unique like me. :goodvibes:goodvibes

So now all my DF had to do was to tell my Dad and get his blessing...please sound the death tune...this wasn't easy as you think. We are both in our last yr of college, but we have a 5yr age difference.:rolleyes1 Anywho, so after asking my Dad again, he said no way. I was getting annoyed at this point. All of my friends were getting engaged and their parents were happy and excited for them. My parents weren't. To make a long story short, after many talks with my parents, I got them to somewhat get my point and not make me wait 5 more years to get engaged. My Dad called up my DF and gave him his blessing and then asked me later how does the ring look... That was my face. I said Dad, there is no ring yet.

After this, my DF brings to act weird and like a joker. :clown: In August, DF started something called Rose Friday. Every Friday for like 6 or 7 weeks, he would come home and present me a rose or roses by getting down on one knee telling me how much he loves and adores me. Each and every time he did this, I thought he was going to propose to me. He never did. It drove me nuts and he enjoyed that. He though I was too cute upset. :sad2:
The week after my best friend got married, his mom came to visit us. We had dinner that night out after I got off my part time job. I drove back in my car and he took his mom to "walmarts". Little did I know, she had the ring with her. My DF took one look at it and knew that tonight was the night to propose instead of waiting.
When I got home to our apt. I decided to relax and watch tv our cat children. He came home and got down on one knee again. I said to myself here we go again with the craziness. He asked me why his made me so nervous. Of course I told him it was because I thought he was going to propose and that it wasn't nice to keep teasing me. Suddenly, he took out this rose, but it didn't look like a really rose. I don't remember anything he said at this point. I was zone out thinking about how weird that there was a line in the middle rose. Suddenly, it opened up with the ring in there followed by Will you Marry me? At that point I lost it crying and hyper ventilating. Those 6-7 weeks of rose craziness was worth this. The crying went on for about a minute before he asked if that meant yes. Of course I said it did and yes! Of course, our cats thought we were crazy, but I was the happiest person ever.

And that's the story lol

DF and I went to Disney World for Christmas this year, since my mom passed away in August, he thought it would be perfect to be in the "happiest place on earth" during probably the worst holiday with no family. He was absolutely correct and we were having a great time. I secretly knew he was going to propose there, but had no idea when.

On Christmas Eve we went to the Poly for dinner at Kona and then on the beach to see fireworks with some friends. I was convinced he was going to do it then and boy did he look nervous. No such luck. Again Christmas Day as we were eating at the Coral Reef and he grabbed my hand and started a little speech... nothing.

So the day after Christmas we were in the Magic Kingdom walking around after lunch. I was sure he was going to do it, but when I told him I didn't feel well, he suggested we go back to the resort and take a nap! I was shocked, but agreed because I wanted a nap so badly! We were walking around the castle and the show was going on and DF suggested we wait until it was over and then leave. As soon as the show ended, we were strangely alone on the bridge overlooking the castle, and he got down on one knee and popped the question! He caught me so off guard that I was surprised in the end! It was perfect!!

Since I just got engaged recently, and had posted my engagement story, I decided to just copy and paste:rotfl:

I just wanted to share with all of you my exciting news!!!!

I am a DVC member and had 2 trips planned in '10: March @ AKLV and December @ SSR...My DBF, now DFi decided he wanted to treat me to a trip to WDW to thank me for all I've done for him over the years
When the buy 4 nights, get 3 deal came, we just couldnt pass it up! I'd always wanted to stay at the Poly, but never had, so thats what he booked for us! He told me I wasnt allowed to plan anything for our first night, he wanted to be in charge of it!
Turns out he booked dinner @ Bistro de Paris (he knew it was only 1 of 2 FS places in WS I had never eaten) after dinner, we went to find a spot for Illuminations...The park was very quiet that night, we found an isolated bench in China, and right before Illuminations started, he asked me to marry him It was sooo lovely! Of course I said yes right away!!!! Best night of my life!!!

We havent ''officially'' set a date yet...We want to get married @ WDW, hopoefully @ the wedding spot @ the Poly...So I'd love some advice from others who have married there! We are hoping for 10/15/11.
We know we want an Escape Wedding, as we dont want a huge wedding...This would be his 2nd marriage and he has 2 teenage children from that marriage...From my side, I only want invited: my father give me away, I want my best friend for my maid of honor, her BF who is a good friend of ours also, they met through us...He'll have the 2 kids of course, and his parents.

So thats our story Thanks for reading!!!!

About a year ago this time, Dbf suggested that the two of us go to Disney World in December. This would be our first "just the two of us trip" and as soon as he suggested it my mind wandered to engagement :goodvibes Planning continued for the trip (December 13-19 2009 POP, Free Dining, and MVMCP) and I thought more and more about the possibility of him proposing on this trip. If I would mention anything along those lines, he would say that with school and everything, there just was not money for a ring. Last summer, I was at a local jewlery store having a pearl (that we got from DTD!) set into a ring, and there was a lady and her mother there looking at engagement rings. I saw that the ring that she had tried on was absolutely PERFECT! It was my dream ring! Well, they had almost bought it when they said that maybe they should let her fiance see it first. After they left, I went over and looked at the ring under the glass and fell in love with it. When I got to the car, I called DBF and told him all about the perfect ring that I had found (actually I had to do this twice because after I got done telling me the first time he asked me to slow down and repeat bc he understood nothing :)) He stuck with the usual line about not having the money, etc. When I went back a few weeks later to pick up my ring, I of course, wandered over to the engagement rings and saw that my dream ring was GONE! I asked the lady behind the counter if she knew anything about the ring, and she said she was actually the one that sold it to someone just the day before. I thanked her and went to the car feeling really bummed. I just knew in my head that the lady that was trying it on before had come back to buy it. I called DBF and whined about how there would never be another ring as perfect, and he apologized and said he was sure we would be able to find something.
Fast Forward to December, the day we arrvied at Disney.
We went to MK the first day becasue we were going to MVMCP that night. As soon as we walked in the park, DBF pulled some note cards out of his pocket and said that since we had been to MK a lot, we should try something different to tour the park. The note cards had a scavanger hunt printed on them, so off we went to scavenger hunt through the park. Each time, he would go ahead of me a little bit, so I was "finding" him using each clue. The cards took us to our favorite locations in each land of the MK. The last card led me to the front of the Castle, on Main Street where I found DBF standing with a Photopass Photographer. I saw that he was holding some sort of stufed animal behind his back, and thought "Oh, this was all just for a stuffed animal, he's not going to propose". I quickly tried to wrap my head around this (after all, it was my own imagination that made me think that he was going to propose). He came over to me and handed me the stuffed Mickey. The Mickey was holding a heart that said "I Love You". Then I noticed that there was a felt tag attached to Mickey's hand, I read the tag that said "Hannah Will you Marry Me?" When I looked up DBF was down on one knee, holding up my DREAM RING! I said yes, and after we got a few posed pictures in addition to the ones of the proposal, we went over to the sidewalk where two Disney Security guys came over and congratulated us and gave us just engaged pins. DBF explained that he had gone to the store after hearing me describe the ring and bought it then. He said it was so much fun to pretend to be sorry everytime I brought up the "ring that go away". We were able to celebrate our engagement with a week at Disney:cool1:

My boyfriend and I were on vacay at Disney World. We woke up pretty early and decided to spend the day at Magic Kingdom. As we entered the park, I immediately asked him to take a picture of me next to a Minnie statue, and to my shock, the camera died! I was so disappointed, how could I spend a da at MK with no camera. So he immediately says, lets go back to the hotel, charge the camera and come back. So we do. Around mid afternoon we return, Im happy, snapping my pictures. We have a blast and sit for the evening parade. After the parade I'm starving and tired, so we start to walk out of the park but he's acting weird. Then he tells me to go stand next to a Mickey & Minnie bush so he can take my picture, I do, and as he comes over to me, I say "did it come out cute?" lol. As Im inspecting the photo, he apprently gets down on his knee in front of everyone to ask me to marry him, but I'm too busy looking at the camera! Then he says, "Uhm, can I ask you a question?"...and then I realized. :)

Hello everyone!! Congratulations to all!!!! :goodvibes
I just got engaged this past Sunday!! :lovestruc
We were celebrating our 3-year anniversary so we went to the Magic Kingdom for lunch plans and when we got there, he said he wanted to get a picture of us in front of the castle- so we went over to the Plaza Rose Garden and we asked the Photopass Photographer to take our picture- no big deal, right? well little did I know...
The photographer took about 3 or 4 pictures and then he turned to me and kissed me and then got down on one knee!!!!! The rest is history!
