I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro for my digital layouts. I buy most of my kits online. Do a google search for digital scrapbooking, and you'll come up with tons of sites! For me, the best thing to do was find a decent program, do some tutorials online to learn about it, then start my scrapping.
Digital is the only way I'd ever get any scrapping done. Plus there aren't 10,000 pieces of stuff lying around for my DD to snatch up.
I think it's fairly easy. I usually just do a bunch of layouts, then put them in a "to print" folder, and every couple of months, I get them printed & put in a regular book for family to see when they visit. Then a backup CD or DVD for me goes in the safe deposit box.
