Post your cruise scrapbook layouts

I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro for my digital layouts. I buy most of my kits online. Do a google search for digital scrapbooking, and you'll come up with tons of sites! For me, the best thing to do was find a decent program, do some tutorials online to learn about it, then start my scrapping.

Digital is the only way I'd ever get any scrapping done. Plus there aren't 10,000 pieces of stuff lying around for my DD to snatch up. ;) I think it's fairly easy. I usually just do a bunch of layouts, then put them in a "to print" folder, and every couple of months, I get them printed & put in a regular book for family to see when they visit. Then a backup CD or DVD for me goes in the safe deposit box. :thumbsup2

curlybop,
I am just getting into the whole digital scrapbooking thing. What site do you buy most of your kits from and where do you get them printed at? I was thinking of buying the large HP 12x12 printer just for that then I thought how much ink would I be using. What do you suggest?

I purchased a lot from Scrapbook Bytes. They are the very first site I stumbled upon, and I sort of just stayed there. I have purchased other kits here & there though.

I had thought of 12x12, but right now, I scrap in 8x10. I set up the template for that, and so far, I've been able to fit everything I want on a page of that size. Then I just order from Winkflash in the 8x10 size, and I'm done. For me, it's just easier, and a bit cheaper to scrap in 8x10. :thumbsup2

Some good starter digital scrapbooking sites are scrapbook-elements.com and scrapbook-bytes.com (I also like sweetshoppedesigns.com, but they don't offer tutorials, mostly products). They both offer a lot of tutorials from the very basic to the more complex. They also have message boards which talk about different programs/printers. I print my books at either shutterfly or mypublisher.com. I make my layouts fit the size of the book I am going to purchase and then make one layout fit each page.

Congrats on the new addition Cass!!Can't wait to see pix. I've always been amazed on the talent you have.

Thanks for the response to my question. I am really getting into the whole digital thing but I just didn't know where to really begin. THanks again I can always count on DIS!

Everyone's pages are fantastic. They are really getting me excited for our first cruise!

Marypoppinsiam-
Wow! Those are works of art. Did you create these digitally and if so, would you share what resources you are using? We were on the March 31 Eastern and my pictures are screaming to be shared! I've done some "regular" scrapping but am also interetsed in the digital approach. Appreciate any help!

Yes they were all done digitally. I just started with the whole digital scrapbooking and loving it. I use PSE 5.0. My papers and elements I usually get from scrapbookers blogs, scrapgirls.com, scrapbook-bytes.com, ect... One of my favorite blogs is Selena (designsbyselena.blogspot.com).

I hope you had a wonderful time on your cruise. I love the Eastern!

How lovely!!! You do simply beautiful work! :cheer2: I'm booked to be on the westbound repositioning cruise from Barcelona and weighing my options right now on layouts, style and subject matter.
