Emmers, I think I am going to merge this thread with the other character meal photo thread that exists. See, quite a while ago, someone started a thread asking DIS-ers to share photos from their character meals (on the main DL section of the board). A few of us posted lots of pictures. Then the OP never came back to the thread and I tried to keep it alive by bumping it repeatedly in hopes we could get all the character meal photos (and reviews too, if possible) into one master thread, just like the regular Dining thread that exists, so people would always have a place to go and look at character meal photos to help them decide which ones they wanted to try. My bumping efforts were usually unsuccessful. So I am going to merge your thread with the other one and keep it over here on the Community section (since everyone forgot about it over in the DL forum anyway!), and maybe it will have new life here!!! We need more folks to post! We KNOW that tons of us do character meals - we need to see the photos and hear the reviews!

Here's my quick review of Minnie and Friends.

For me, a character meal is all about the characters who will be there. I'd rather have a character meal with fewer characters, most or all of which mean something to me, than a character meal with a bunch of characters that I'm neutral about. In that respect, the rotation of characters at Minnie's doesn't hold much appeal to me right now (now when I'm married and have kids, I may be singing a different tune). Seeing Minnie and the chipmunks is great, but the other characters are just characters to me.

That said, the character interaction is outstanding at Minnie's. Most of them came by to our table multiple times and Tigger took my 3 year old nephew for a ride while he was sitting in a party member's wheelchair. Eeyore took a real liking to my under a year old niece and on occasion, they had to pull him away to go see someone else. Our group never lacked for attention and it was difficult to make my way through the breakfast because the characters kept on coming. It's certainly a lot of fun and if you want to see some harder to find characters, (Rabbit, Rafiki, and Captain Hook were at ours), Minnie and Friends will probably be a great choice for you. I would certainly eat there again in a group, though probably not on a solo visit.

Hello Everyone!!

Sherry has been wanting me to post pictures on this thread for months now and I am FINALLY getting to it. I have to admit that because of how many pictures I have up from all of my trips with characters at Minnie & Friends and at Goofy's (not to mention some from StoryTellers), I've hesitated on it, but I figure, I might as well just try to start!

These are from Memorial Weekend this year at Minnie & Friends
(From this trip is me, my fiance, my cousin and his wife, then their friends and brother):

(Here, my cousin thought Chip was Dale and he was upset about that and tried
to pull him outside, but Derrik got up and closed the door on him!)

Then the Mad Hatter & Alice showed up, sat at our table and made small talk.
Then they decided to make us play a game. The Mad Hatter had us put tea cups
on our heads and spin in circles. Then he had us move around each other while
spinning, and said it was like his ride! HAHA. Then he had us compete to see
who would win!

So here, my cousin's friend was trying to get Captain Hook upset by saying "tick, tock, tick, tock," so when he wasn't looking, Hook took his sunglasses!

Then recently we went to Minnie & Friends on the 4th of July

WHEW! That was a lot! Sorry guys! So based on all the photos, I think you can tell that we REALLY enjoy Minnie & Friends. We usually make our PS an hour before park opening so that we finish just when the park opens and we're already there on Main Street !! We also really love it because there is SO much character interaction! When we first went in January, we were FLOORED by how much character interaction there was! It was fantastic!

Your story of the Mad Hatter having everyone pretend to be his ride reminds me of the time I entered the park and found him leading a kick line of about 10 guys in front of the floral. The wives, girlfriends, and children of these guys found this whole scene even funnier than I did and I thought it was pretty funny.

That is too funny! I have seen Alice & the Ma Hatter there a couple of times with the band making trouble

We've been to exactly one character meal. We did Ariel's grotto for dinner in May 07 because my DD is a princess fan. We plan to do GK this next trip though although Minnie's is beginning to appeal to me so we may have a decision to make. lol

Loved the pictures. You all look like you get soooo into the characters. That is great.

I am planning on making reservations for Minnies in November. We have only done Goofy's before. WazowskiLOVER, You mentioned that you make reservations for before the park opens. Does this work on a normal day or only on a MM day? We will probably have a couple of days where the park opens at 10. It would be great to get into Minnies at 9 on a non-MM day.

From our breakfast at Storytellers's this past Saturday, 10/24/09 (this was my third time trying the Critter Breakfast there, and I have to say, I still prefer Goofy's Kitchen for food selection, characters and quality by a mile; the Storytellers menu prices are only like $5 cheaper than the buffet, so it makes more sense to get the buffet, but the buffet is very limited):

Yay, Courtney! I am so glad you posted all these fabulous character meal photos! This thread was lacking your adorable pictures, and we needed to revive it somehow (people seem to have forgotten about it over here on the lonely Community Board!)! You and Jesus are always so cute with the characters! A character meal photo thread just isn't the same without contributions from both Jasmine and Courtney!!
