We have been back from our trip to WDW 3 weeks now and both hubby and I have the post trip blues badly :sad2:

Everytime I look at photos or think about the trip I want to cry is this normal ???? :sad1::sad1::sad1:

We are talking about another trip in 2014 for probably a month this time seeing a bit more of USA and finishing up back in Orlando. Everytime we mention this to friends and family they say - isn't once enough???

They don't understand!!! Does anyone else feel this way when they get home???

I was depressed when we got back and wanted to immediately start planning another trip! My family makes negative comments all the time, "why do you keep going?" "why don't you do something different?" To each their own....you either get it or you don't!

I always get depressed when we get home from a trip and there isn't another in the planning. I could go to Disney every month I think and not get sick of it. I have done Disney trips twice in one year twice now and it still is not enough, when I get home.

So  to you, I think we all know how you feel :goodvibes

I loved spending time as a family on this trip, we have a very busy home life, I work 6 days a week and my two boys are competitive swimmers, so train every day and my husband and I often play tag team.

I said to my Mum the other night we would like to go as a family again ( my kids will be 19, 16 and 14 in 2014) and she said why would you take the kids again?? it would be so expensive. Yes it will be expensive but I wouldn't trade the family time for anything.

The first two trips I suffered really badly with post-trip blues. This one I was glad to get home! (see trip report.) Having said that we were thinking of 2014 for New York but have decided we can't wait that long so we may go regular economy in 2013 (rather than PE we were planning.) Only 18 months away! Let the count down begin.

OK, I might be getting ahead of myself, I have no idea on costs/budget yet!

I don't have the blues as such, but I am obsessed with looking forwards to the next trip, even if it is nearly 2 years away. I think about trip planning every day, and it helps me get through work :)

I get really low after a trip too. Fortunately my mum wants to take me to New York next year, so after we finish this trip, I will be able to plan another and fortunately we will have to stop off at LA for 3 days on the way to New York and on the way home we'll be stopping at Hawaii for 3 days.

But that low is real. It's such a let down to be home after a trip. All that planning and excitement is just over all of a sudden.

I understand!!! I only live 900 miles from WDW and I am always wishing for my next trip to come around. Who wouldn't want to be at the happiest place on Earth? It is pure magic for those of us with a love for Disney! I say go for it in 2014!

I totally get the feeling after finishing a good holiday. I find it so hard to get back into "work mode". Lucky we have another trip planned so there's something to look forward too, also another motivator for working. ;)

Nerissa - I have the post trip blues after every single trip I take...even when I know I have another one (or two) planned. And it doesn't even need to include Disney in the vacay.

Some people prefer to stay away from the Dis; others lock away their photos and try not to ramble too much about their holiday with their 3D friends....

Me? I find it helps me when I stay connected with the Dis and ramble to my heart's content with my friends-in-a-box. At least I don't feel so alone or weird when my 3D friends say "America and Disney again????!!!".

:flower3:  :grouphug:

Oh gosh. Boy do I get the blues. I definitely feel the need to step away from the Dis for a while after a trip if I don't have another one to plan. It's too painful for 3-4 months afterwards. Then I usually mosey back in to hang out with my favourite peeps.

Definitely planning another trip helps, even if it's 2 years away. Good for you for planning another family getaway. They are worth every penny.

The lads in our party started crying as we drove away from Kidani to the airport on our last trip!!! I get depressed big time. Start planning you next trip straight away, even if its a couple of years away. It's a small way of keeping your mind focused.

Thanks everyone for making me feel so normal

When I got home the first thing I did was open a holiday account with a set amount direct debited each week - this can be touched only for a holiday !!!!

I am expecting my photopass cd to arrive any day now and I know it will make me tear up.

Yes I am already starting to think of our next trip and my husband said last night "we are going back to the Beach Club aren't we? " so I guess we are :)

You can add me to the list last year i felt like my heart was breaking leaving and having to come home i just did not know if we were going to be able to go again and i just felt awful when people would ask about our trip i would just say it was good and not share to much info just because it made me sad that we were not still there.
This year it has not been quite as bad as last year i think it was because DH was adamant we were not going back for 2 years i just accepted it little did we know:rotfl:
As much as it was :sad2: to come on the Dis i was still so excited for everyone else who was leaving and wanted to catch up on how there trip planning and trips were going i just couldn't stay away:lmao: even if it did make me :sad1:

I think it helps to have people who understand the way your feeling on the Disney anonymous board :rotfl2:

:cloud9::cloud9:Hi I'm WAMUMOF4 and i am a disaholic :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

I can so relate! We got back last month and it's all I think about everyday. My best friend and her family are going in December and I'm so excited, living through her :lmao:
I am definitely going back in two year (stupid airfares) ..lol. Maybe Aulani next year. I just need my fix. :rotfl:

try not to ramble too much about their holiday with their 3D friends....

Had to laugh out loud at that one. :rotfl:

Yes I am already starting to think of our next trip and my husband said last night "we are going back to the Beach Club aren't we? " so I guess we are

Yay for Husbands that have the bug

Count me in too.....

I haven't even been on my Christmas trip which we have been planning for two years and I have two more up my sleeve which DH stupidly gave permission to this weekend. Oh I should be a villain....

They may not be for a few years but it gives me something to look forward to when I get home. Planning is half the fun.

And the disboards is a great comfort, you can live through everyone else's adventures and when your turn comes around again you can help someone else with their special Dis Depression.

:grouphug: A great circle of friends.
