I remember being upset as a kid because there were no cartoons or kid shows on because President Kenedy had been shot and all three channels were covering that.

I remember when the nightly news gave that days killed, wounded and MIA's as a part of every newscast.

I still play my original Beatles albums.

I still think my first car a 69 Malibu SS was one of the coolest cars ever.

I still remember the Beatles first performance on the Ed Sullivan Show.

I remember trading my first aluminum bat for two wooden ones because I hated it.

And I remember my first trip to Disneyland when the best E-Ticket ride was the Matterhorn.
 
When you could buy a coke for 20 cents out of a machine... REAL cokes, the kind that had the afterbite that came in a 6.5oz and 10oz bottle

I got my early fashion advice from Blair Warner.
I was amazed at my Shrinky Dinks.
My first Barbie was the Urban Cowboy Barbie (silver "cowboy catsuit with black & silver piping down the sides and white fringe).
Motley Crue was this new band of makeup-wearing men who screamed a lot.
I was jealous of my friends who could afford Nintendo game systems and wished I could spend all day playing Super Mario Bros.
Leg warmers weren't just for dance class anymore.
Debbie Gibson was the coolest ever in her modified jean shorts.
Gag me with a spoon.
I wanted to BE Mary Lou Retton. I even got her leotard and proudly wore it to gymnastics class.
That was gnarly.
Skateboarding was rad.
Skidz were a hot item, as were Body Glove swimsuits.
I could go on and on....

I bought all the new songs on 45's when they came out
I went to roller skating rinks for parties
Had a dorothy hamil haircut once
 
Tonight I saw someone with a Garfield stuffed animal stuck in their window.....that reminded me I am definately over 30....

When the Challenger blew up...Christa McAulliffe was one of my teachers.
 
I played Pong on our brand new Atari system

My younger brother had Rock-um Sock-um Robots

I had a Mrs Beasely doll (from Family Affair)

We did the Hustle during our 8th grade dances

Our high school was really advanced, we had 6 Apple Classics the year I graduated (1983)

Chinese Jump Rope was a really cool game when I was in grade school...

I can remember cigarette adds on TV..remember the Marlboro man and his horse on all the time.

I remember Star Trek as being a new show.though I never watched it.

I used to drink Funny FAce drinks and liked them better than Kool Aide.....Goofy Grape was my favorite.
 
Why would I want to show I'm over 30? I'd rather show how young I am. There...does that prove it? LOL!

In case it doesn't...when I was in high school I learned to type on a MANUAL typewriter. Then the second half of the semester I learned to type on a NEW IBM Selectric. State-of the-art at the time. LOL! :teeth:
