Post something that proves you're over 30, or....

My senior prom theme was "Time For Me To Fly" by REO Speedwagon!

Captain Kangaroo, Romper Room, Electra Woman & Dyna Girl (By the way soap fans Deidre Hall from Days was Electra Woman!) :p , Weeble Woobles, Metal lunchboxes; my first was Snow White, VHF and UHF on TV and VHF seem to have the better stations, TV show with the superhero Shazam!!, Wonder Woman TV show.....oh my...I can go on and on, but I think that's enough!! :o

I would be playing in the floor while Mom and Dad watched Bonanza- they were not reruns then!

When I was about 5 I got a Cheerful Tearful for Christmas.

Liddle Kiddles!!

30 cents would buy a sack FULL of bubblegum and jawbreakers.
(I was around 11 then. Back when it was safe for a kid to walk to the store by his/her self)

The Jackson 5 were hot and Michael was cute!

I was too young to know what was going on, but Mom and my aunt would be talking about Peyton Place.

This is fun......

Wetson's
Crocheted hats and poncho's
Stocking caps for winter hats... the really long ones were the coolest.
Shag haircuts
Baseball cards and clothes pins for the spokes of your bike wheels!
Hippity Hops!
Woody Woodpecker toy that stuck to the wall and pecked his way down!

I was only 9 when the Challenger blew up....I think it's strange to think about the fact that my best friend is actually part of the Baby Boom generation, because it makes him seem SO old.....When I was 2 and started watching the Denver Broncos with my parents, the Orange Crush Defense was THE famous thing about the team and I can't really remember any quarterback before John Elway.

I remember Two Ton Baker, Pinky Lee, Howdy Doody with Buffalo Bill, Princess Summer Fall Winter Spring, and Mr Bluster, Winky Dink, Lunchtime Little Theater with Uncle Ned and Uncle Bucky, Garfield Goose with Fraiser Thomas, WLS with Dick Biondi, Wally Philips on WGN Radio. Ernie Banks, Billy Williams and Ron Santo.

"It was easy to dance to and had a good beat. I give it an 85."

JFK Assassination (I was in 8th grade)

Reading about the two newest states in My Weekly Reader - Alaska and Hawaii (first grade) and our president - Dwight David Eisenhower

Dick, Jane and Sally, Spot and Puff, Mother and Father, Grandmother and Grandfather

Returning pop bottles (2 cent refund) and getting a bag of candy for the money I got - 10 pieces for 10 cents.

Ten cent burgers at McDonalds and you walked up to a window to buy it.

No air conditioning

Ironing everything because it was line dried and there wasn't any polyester to make it wrinkle free. Rolling up dampened laundry and keeping it in the refrigerator until it was ready to be ironed. Adding starch to the water to starch Dad's white shirts - no spray starch. Wringer washers. Clothespins to hang up clothes on the line.

I had an Atari and played "Pong."

I know the song, "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head" (thanks to my 6th grade teacher who taught us how to dance!).

When I was in 3rd grade, the song, "YMCA" was just becoming a hit.

I used to wear Chic jeans.

When I was a kid, they used to still make Datsuns.

I had tennis-shoe roller skates, and before that I used to have skates with the metal bases that you clipped onto your regular running shoes.

I remember getting the latest in technology in our home...a microwave oven, cable tv, and a vcr. With our first cable system we had the "remote control" that was actually attached to the tv with a wire.

Those are all true for me, and I'm under 30.

Oh please, over 30? Okay, when I was in school we had to "hide" under our desks for H bomb drills. That should prove that I'm over 50 ;)

I have never eaten a meal on a plane...
My first real computer had a 33.3 modem...and my god it was a top of the line PC...
Clarissa Explains it All
Being the same age as the Midgnight Society on Are YOu Afraid of the Dark

My first car was a 1969 Dodge Dart.

DH's stepdad wouldn't allow him to watch Love Boat because of too much sexual content. His first car was a 1974 Ford Pinto. LOL

See, now THAT's how you prove you're under 30, not by listing the things you remember from the 80's (because those over 30 remember that stuff too).

Can you tell I've been reading these and trying to guess if the people are over or under 30? Some people's answers apply to both groups.

E.g., I'm under 30 and...
I still have my Garfield collection
I could drink legally at 18
I remember when MK was the only park at WDW (that was true up to 21 years ago)

I'm way too close to 30 to play this game without just giving dates and ages :(

Yep, Jen you are in the 27 range...

Yes Hes, and Banzai are too young to be playing this game...

I was at WDW when the President was shot, and there was only a MK on that trip! EPCOT was almost done though... You could take the monorail around to see the stages of construction. I saw the first Star Wars movie at a drive in theater. I still have 8-tracks but nothing to play them on. I have played a lot of Pong. It was a big deal when by friend got cable TV, she was the first in our neighborhood. Our first "portable" VCR was two pieces and each weighed about 20 pounds. That about sums that up... Except that our first ever trip to WDW is cronicled on Super8 sound movies. Can't find bulbs for the projector hardly anymore!
