Post something that proves you're over 30, or....

Ok....... hmmm

Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix died before I was born.
Mama Cass died the year I was born
John Lennon was killed when I was 6.

So yes I'm in the under 30 club ;)

I grew up with a black and white tv, watched Davey and Goliath on Sunday mornings and nothing was open on a Sunday. We also loved to watch the Apollo rockets being launched.

:p

Oops, that was for spago

I had all of my walls covered with Shaun Cassidy pictures...

I know that Diana Ross was once in a group...(Supremes)

I grew up watching Father Knows Best, I Love Lucy, Amos and Andy, The Honeymooners and the Ed Sullivan show.

For you women out there, how about finally being allowed to wear "slacks" to High School school.
Think that was about 1970

I lived before man walked on the moon.

SWATZIES (sp?)

preshi - you'll have to post that modeling pic to prove it :smooth:

Ah, where to start.

I still own my 45 of Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust", of which I played endlessly, sometimes backwards to see if the rumor was true that if you listened hard enough the words were "marijuana is really fun".

I also have the turntable that I played my 45's on, complete with the little disc things to hold the 45 in place.

I remember when cartoons were shown on Saturday mornings only.

Love's Baby Soft

Colored mascara

Like, gag me with a spoon.

Couples skate at the roller rink was the Saturday night happening thing to do

Permanent scars on my forehead from curling iron injuries (had to get those wings just right, ya know!)

There was a smoking lounge at school, not for the faculty, but for the students.

My favorite word from my youth was "book". As in, I'm late for class, gotta book! :teeth:

The hottest video game was pac-man and Ms pac-man. I came in the world as 8-tracks were going out. Watergate was something my parents spoke of that I didn't understand.

I heard Mama Used To Say last night on Back-Tracks USA (radio) and knew all the words!

Whatever happened to that Junior guy anyway?

Oh, I just remembered this one, my neighbor used to say (a couple of years younger then me, a true child of the 80's):

Gag me with a Mastercard and put me on layaway!

I have a POW bracelet from when we wore them during the VietNam War. :)

I still have mine too, Patrick! :)

Let's see...OK, one of my favorite toys was my GE Show n' Tell Slide viewer/record player

I still have tons of 45's :)

Let see Lost InSpace on TV, I listened to Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrixm while they were still alive, Have all of Led Zeplin, Pink Flyod and Frank Zapa on Viny. Remember Bob Seger playing at High school Dances Denny McLane winning 30 games for the Detriot Tigers, Godie Howe Playing for the Red Wings.

Yep over Thrity:rolleyes:

Lee Press On nails and legwarmers were two of my favorite accesories. :)

(can you tell I like this topic?)

I had an old TI that you hooked up to a tv for a monitor. As an added bonus we got a speach synthesizer.

I was born the same year Star Wars was released (did see it while it was still in the theater though)

John Lennon being shot was the equivalent to Kennedy being shot for the generation before me.

I remember exactly what I was doing that day, and I also remember my whole house going into mourning. My parents were huge Lennon fans, as were all of us kids.

I also remember when Michael Jackson looked African American, a rather handsome man until he became a bleached out freak.
