Post SOLD OUT Resorts for Free Dining here please!!

I don't think it's a good idea to post sold out resorts for various dates - because there is no guarantee that they'll be "sold out" tomorrow. Or Thursday. More rooms could be made available, or someone could cancel.

Do you or anyone on here know how much the difference in price is between the standard room and preferred room at the AS Movies? Just curious.... I had to book the preferred room this morning and I am fine w/ that hopefully we get a Buzz room....

What is a buzz room?:confused3

I tend to agree with Denise.. This thread may end up to be very misleading.. and completely contradictory.

A Buzz Room is a room in the Buzz Lightyear building at All Star Movies.. I believe.

I'm going to try calling on Thursday to get a WL standard room and save a little bit more money. I'm booked with a woods view right now.

Having the main pool out of commission at the Sports does not matter to us and might actually be good as there will be fewer people to crowd the food courts.

On the other hand, sob, many of you guys will not want to be staying there so I will not have anyone to talk to. :scared:

Oops.... I meant a room in the Buzz building in the Toy Story section of the All Star Movies hotel....

Maybe I started something... Can you picture all these poor people calling the CM's and insisting, I want a Buzz room... And I know it exists, someone on the Disboards has stayed there!!!!

Sorry...:wizard:

ATTENTION: A REMINDER ABOUT POSTS IN THIS THREAD

If even one night of a date range has no availability at the resort listed.. then it will show no availability for the entire reservation.

Example: Post above says : "Pop Century 9-22 to 9-29 Sold out"

If 9/26 has no availability... then that entire reservation would kick out with no availibility.

Please keep that in mind as you make your requests on the phone.

Called last night...
Pop Century 19-24 sold out. That would make the 19th sold out for sure, not sure about the rest of the time, we just changed the dates to a week earlier.

I tried at about 8 pm last night and Pop was not available for 9/21 - 9/27. I was told if I wanted to move my dates up a few days I could get 6 days available. I can't remember if she told me 9/18 - 9/24 was available or 9/16 - 9/22 was available. But looking at the previous posts that might not be the case anymore.

I did ask for a preferred room. I ended up with a Movies preferred room. I want to be close to the restaurant/bus stop.

Last year we already had our reservations booked and paid for. When free dining came out, we just called and updated our ressie with the code. No need to cancel and rebook. Hopefully it works the same way this year.

AKL pool view sold out 9/13-9/23, we had this room already booked, but they had to switch us to standard view since there was no more pool view available w/the free dine. It' still better than having to pay for the food. I'm not in my room a whole lot anyway, unless I'm sleeping and napping. I'm a pool and lobby person!

it doesn't exactly work that way... it's my understanding that a room booked as a regular ressie may or may not be eligible for free dining, there's no guarantee... booking now does not hold that room for you under the free dining promo... to "add free dining" you have to unbook and rebook...

to answer the OP...
i found that CSR is booked solid for 8/26-30... no rooms at any price for anyone... hopefully some will open up and be eligible for FDDP...

you are correct I had CS booked and it took me a weeeeeeeeeek and it felt like a year to get them to let me have free dining with my ressie.aug2006 I had to speak with managers and all to get it applied so booking ahead doesn't make for room for free dining I think it would make it less likely. I think onnce the resort are at a percent filled they stop the free dining booking and I spoke with CM yesterday and she said free dining is sparse this year so I would wait to book my room just my two cent.

Same here..The CM just had to add the code to my package already booked with my Disney Visa. Same confirmation number, just much cheaper!

I just want to jump in here and reiterate that knowing that a certain resort is sold out today really means nothing. I booked 3 rooms with free dining at POP last year. About a week later my sister decided that she wanted two rooms instead of only one. I called 2-3 times a day for 3 days but finally got her extra room. About two weeks after that my in-laws thought they would like to join us. It took about a week of calling 3-4 times a day to get them a room and no, it was not the first call of the day.

Anything can happen, any resort can come available. Disney may even see a big surge for certain dates and release more rooms.

I would recommend that callers have a back-up plan or two up their sleeves when they call. If you don't get your first choice, you can always become a pest like I did and call a few times a day waiting for an opening. Good luck everyone! I'll be skipping Free Dining this year because we'll be broke after our trip to Asia :).

My friend who hasn't taken her kids to Disney yet wants to try and book tomorrow. Does anyone know if you need to supply a code to the CM when you call?
Thanks

Does your friend have a Disney Visa? If not, she will have to wait until Thursday to book the Free Dining package. If yes, I think you can find the code on mousesavers.com

okay, sorry-I meant thursday....does the general public need to use a code for this promo?
