I could've gotten a standard at AS Music, but since I was going to be saving 525, I decided to spring for the extra 135.6 to get DD4 a "Buzz" room! I'm going to be second guessing this decision till we come home from the trip. Oh well, saved almost 400! Woo Hoo!

That is no surprise, the standards were booked for my dates when I booked in Feb for 9/22-9/29 because only two buildings are standard there.

Only Courtyard BB rooms available for my dates at WL 9/12 to 9/18...
No standard rooms or woods (BB or reg) view according to my CM, but she was having some computer trouble...All room types showing up on WDW site for booking w/o code..

She also said that she has been taking a lot of calls this morning with people trying to book free dining with the code but without a Disney Visa and has had to tell them no - they were given strict instructions on this...

My agent mentioned, in passing, that POP only had standard rooms available and might not for much longer.

If you cannot get what you want come on over and join me at the SPORTS. I do not know why it is not popular as we like it there and have never had any problems but then we cannot hear well and I love kids.

And I just got off the phone w/them and I was offered a preferred room. I wanted standard and she told me they were booked. This must vary by date. I do need 2 connecting rooms though. That might have had something to do w/it.

AsMovies has only had preferred rooms available for those date for about 2-3 weeks now. Our neighbors booked there last month and were unable to get a standard room.

I was able to add FD to an existing reservation - using the Disney Visa for a NEW deposit, and crediting the $200.00 of the OLD deposit (on another credit card) to the balance due.

We booked 4 rooms, and the middle or reserving...they told us 1 room had to be a preferred,,because there were no more stsndards available. This is at Pop cuntury.., Sept. 21-Sept 28th.

Ya never know though....things come and go all the time.

Nothing available at WL except concierge level for 9/22-9/29. The CM told me that there is a certain number of rooms allocated for Disney Visa holders and there will be another amount for the public. She said if I really wanted WL we could try again Thursday morning. I didn't want to take any chances and booked AKL savannah view instead!

I didn't get exactly get what I wanted, but majority and budget rule. I passed on POP. We are staying at ASSports Sept 22-29. I requested buildings 7 or 10. I'll have my LGMH's.

I can't book free dining until it's available to the public, but as you lucky Dis'ers with cards are booking your Free Dining packages, can you post here if your hotels were NOT available during the time you wanted? I'm trying to manage my expectations about getting the hotel I want when this goes to the general public, LOL!

I didn't get exactly what I wanted, like most of you apparently!! I had a standard room at ASMovies for 8/16-8/22 w/o free dining, but when we switched dates to 8/31-9/9 WITH free dining, there were no rooms available. Sooo.. we switched to ASMusic, where standard rooms are still available. (It's 8:38AM Pacific time)

The only resort that is showing to be a MAJOR issue is All Star Movies...

I too wanted ASmo standard view from 9/8 to 9/15! No luck, only preferred, and we wanted the Mighty Ducks buildings. I got a standard room at All Star music for my original dates. To be honest, I have not read a single post that states someone was actually able to get standard view at ASmo.

I called back about 30mins later to see if I could switch to ASmo preferred, but struck out again. It had sold out from the time of my original call. Nothing from 9/5 9/6 9/7 9/9 or 9/10 for 7 nights. The CM was wicked nice, the only advice he gave me was to call back on Thursday and see what I could get...

As far as he knew, these were ALL of the rooms Disney was releasing, and the public was going to get whatever is left over... but commented that Disney may release more rooms come Thursday depending on how these 3 days go. I will be calling at 7am on Thursday to see and will even book it online and cancel my Disney Visa reservation if I have to.

Just an FYI for those looking to stay at All Star Sports -

This was my second choice... but was informed that the main pool, Surfs Up, will be CLOSED during my dates. I don't have exact dates, but I at least for a good portion of September...

just tossing out a random thought:

wonder which cat's are MORE likely to sell out (based on history)?

my first thought would be Values would sell out quickly... fewer rooms "held" for the promo, thus causing people to "upgrade" to a higher cat room (larger profit margin)...

I'm planning on booking the Poly Concierge Lagoon View when it opens up to the public.... if it's available, if not, I'll pick something else and keep checking back until we check in!

There is really NO DOWNSIDE to FREE dining! Just be flexible!

As of this morning I was told that only GV Poly was participating in FD!! Sorry to tell you, perhaps this will change, I hope so, I have a lagoon view room booked and I don't want to change.

There were only Courtyard bunk bed rooms available at WL for 9/14-9/19 as another poster said...This post above gives me hope that I might be able to switch from AKL to WL on Thursday...If not, have others had luck just trying back occasionally? Maybe catching a room that was just cancelled...

Like everyone is saying, we're just happy we got the free dining!

Do you or anyone on here know how much the difference in price is between the standard room and preferred room at the AS Movies? Just curious.... I had to book the preferred room this morning and I am fine w/ that hopefully we get a Buzz room....

I booked a preferred room at the AS Movies and was told the difference in price was $10.00/night.
