Something new for the Christmas season. Everybody post a picture of your Christmas tree as you get it done for this year. It can be the one in your living room, your kid's room, your camper, or wherever you have one. Also, post one tradition you or your family has for each Christmas season.

For those of you intimidated by picture posting I suggest Photobucket.com. Open a free account and then upload your picture. Resize it to about 800x600 and it should fit nicely. While your viewing the picture, look on the right side of the screen and you will see four links. Click on the one with IMG and it will say "copied". Then simply come on here, post a reply, right click and select paste. Scroll down and select to preview post to make sure it works correctly. Then select to post the reply.

Each year on Thanksgiving night we put up the tree and decorate it. After that we watch The Polar Express with the girls. After they go to bed, the wife and I sit on the couch and watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

Tree goes up after Thanksgiving.

We have a few traditions that we enjoy. Every year, I get each of the kids an ornament with their name on it. We joke that when they move out, they will be able to decorate a whole tree each with just their names. And every year, the kids open one gift on Christmas Eve. Every year they know it's going to be new pajamas. Every year they hope this will be the year I surprise them with something different. ;)

First real tree for DH. :goodvibes
Got the $19.99 5ft tree Black Friday deal from Lowes.

For our yearly tradition we always have all the family over our house for Christmas.

Wow, you went shopping on Black Friday? Brave...

Deal started at 5am friday morning and there was hardly anyone there. No lines at all there that morning. Even got a few of the 99 cent pointsettas.

We did most of our shopping Thursday night at a few stores and didn't wait in a line longer then 10min. The longest lines we saw was over at Best Buy but we didn't have any shopping to do there.

Don't know how to resize yet!

Christmas Day we watch A Christmas Story all day. My husband starts cooking early in the morning meatballs and gravy, seafood bruschetta, crab legs, clams casino dip and whatever else we want and then we just graze all day long!

Perfect picture...

Every year on Thanksgiving we set up the tree so DD's can get decorated, then at about 9:30pm we go across the lake to NY to see the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train come into the station all decorated with lights and live music performance and best of all Santa :santa:

Hey Medic, noticed the unopened bottle of Bud Lite on the table at the bottom of the pic. You must have just gotten done with it when you took the picture. I've seen some pics before of the Holiday Train, but it's been a while. They say it's pretty neat to see it coming in.

Tiggerdad, I think that bottle is still sitting on my table, (not a very big drinker, unless I'm on Vaca.):drinking1 but here are two pics for you. The train is awesome to see coming down the tracks into the station. I think next year I am going to take the family down the road to a overpass and watch the train as it is going down the tracks.

Thanks for the pics. Just across the state line in Demopolis, Alabama they have something similar. It's Christmas on the River. They have barges and boats that are decorated that make their way up the river. There is a campground located close by that we have stayed in before. Pretty neat to see it. Have to try and locate some pics.

Thanks Snowmedic for the great train pics. That would be awesome to see live.

Tiggerdad, would love to see the boat pics!!! Hope you can find them.

well, if I hadda tree, that would be it. Either that or a "Trout" tree.
My Christmas tradition is to try to get to Florida before I freeze to death !:santa:

Here is my little tree in the corner of the kitchen.

Our tradition is every Christmas season we go see a Christmas movie at the beautiful Alabama Theatre in downtown Birmingham. It is a big 2,000 seat movie palace built in the 1920's and shows a series of Christmas movies about a week before the big day. The movies don't change much year to year. Some times we go see A Christmas Story (sure shot bb gun) or National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (that there is an RV, Clark). This year we will see White Christmas with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye (they put on a show to help their old colonel from WW2 and his inn).

The movies are always well attended and the Wurlitzer organ come up out of the stage floor before the movie and the crowd sings Christmas carols to warm up. In years past when the movie rolls and Bing sings White Christmas, everyone sitting there in the dark sings out loud along with him. It's enough to restore my faith in humanity when I am weak in my faith. I hope it happens this Sunday when we see the movie again.

Tiggerdad, thanks for this thread. It was a great idea. :worship:
