Post Office may Have Lost My Package

I ordered The Birnbaum 2005 DW Guide from Overstock on Sept 23, 2004. They shipped it on 10/5/2004 and when I check my account status and click on a USPS ICON it states It was delivered on 10/12/2004 at 4:00 PM. Never received it. I think my mail man gave it to another house. He has given magazines to us that didn't belong to us. Of course I returned them to the right address. I contacted Overstock. They give the Post Office 10 days to deliver the package to me and then send out the book again if not received. But now I don't trust getting the book ever.
It is just a nuisance.

Our mail person is always messing up the mail - we get stuff from everyone up and down the street and I'm sure they get our stuff as well. The real kicker was last week when I mailed my absentee ballot - the mail person looked at the wrong side and delivered it back to my mailbox.
