Hello,

My family (me, DW, and 3 kids, 6,4,11 months) are taking a 4 night Dream Cruise in May,2019. We’re thinking about staying Friday-Sunday post cruise at a Disney resort.

We’ve stayed at OKW x 2 and will be staying at BLT next Feb. We want a resort with fun kids activities and easy dining options. We’ve never really done resort activities in the past because we were too busy with the parks.

I would really appreciate your recommendations. We would prefer to stay in a one or 2 bedrooms room. AoA suites? BWI? Swan and dolphin? Thanks in advance!

For a resort only stay I would look at AKV. It was a beautiful resort with a great pool and lots of activities for the kids. The restaurants are awesome, too. I also love BCV but I don't know if I would pay the extra $$ if I wasn't going to Epcot/Hollywood Studios and using the close proximity.

I second AKL. It's a little like being in Animal Kingdom. There is Boma and Jinko, storytelling around the fire pit, a unique gift shop, and the pool is nice with easy access to Mara as well. If pool time is a bigger consideration, then I would think about BC or YC. They have the largest pool. Then you have the Cape May Mickey character meal and Bon Voyage with Tangled character meal close or choice of Boardwalk eateries, Swan, Dolphin, YC or BC with places to eat. Boat ride over to BWI (or take a boat ride like you would the monorail for the ride) if you don't want to walk and have the Boardwalk activities at night and you can see the high fireworks from both Epcot and Studios. One draw back to check on may be any construction for the gondola transportation system at the International entrance to Epcot that is supposed to be starting soon.

Another vote for AKL! They have a ton of fun kid's activities and really good dining options. The Uzima springs pool and hot tub are so nice.

I would also agree with the AKV recommendation. You could get a 1- or 2-bedroom villa at either Jambo or Kidani. There are 3 great TS and a great QS there, plus you will have a zero entry pool, small slides and a children's splash pad area. You can utilize the pools at both Jambo and Kidani and either walk to each building or take a small shuttle provided by the resort. There are also two animal overlook areas and lots of activities.

Thank you, everyone! I’m actually getting excited about the AKL. We’ve never considered it in the past because it was far from the parks. This might be the perfect opportunity to check out the resort. I think renting DVC points will also make it cheaper.

I would vote for POR, AKL, WL, or the Poly. Something nicer than a value, but where you don't need to be super close to a park.

Resort only...I'd go with SSR or AKV. SSR gives you access to DS and you can't see any parks (which might make you sad to not be able to go in the parks). AKV is same but no DS access though 3 restaurants there to eat at and lots of animal watching and pool time. We once did OKW as our no parks stay. We went to DS one day and over to the Boardwalk another. We did do 1 day at Seaworld and some pool time too. Was nice. But if we do it again, we'd likely go with SSR.
