This is the first year that we won't be at WDW for DDs actual birthday. Her school vacation is a week later for the first time. Is it wrong to say that her birthday is a week later and pretend it is her actual birthday - wear the pin, make ressies telling them it is her day, etc?

This question has been asked many, many times. You are going to get the go for it-- then you're going to get the-- it's not her birthday posts. Personally, I say do whatever you want in that area. There really is no right or wrong answer. Just have a great vacation!!!

Agreed with Kilee, but I'd like to start it off by saying... go for it. I consider myself an honest person. Going a week later is not like a month or 3 months etc. It is a week.

IMHO, I would say "we are CELEBRATING our daugthers's birthday today".

My situation, we will be arriving three days after my birthday and at our PS I will make it known that it is not my actual birthday but are CELEBRATING it that night. Which is exactly what we will be doing. On my actual birthday evening I have eye appts for the kids and DH will be working so in fact we won't be celebrating it until WDW.

I assume this would be acceptable.

We were there around my DH birthday, it was the day after. But we said we were all there because it was his birthday. Go for it, a day or two, a week so what. Still celebrating the birthday, most people don't do it on the real day they just can't sometimes.

We are in a similar situation. We will be at WDW 2 weeks before DS turns 9. But the trip is his Christmas AND birthday present. We will do something very small on his actual b-day at home. This will be his first trip to WDW, first time on a plane, first real vacation. I completely agree with saying that you are celebrating a birthday while you are there. If someone wants to get technical then I will be honest about it! Have fun!

Thanks for making me feel better. It is true that we seldom have the chance to celebrate on her actual birthday anyways. We will just postpone it a week. Thanks again!
