Post all SW questions concerns, etc. here...

I called last week to cancel mine and I asked "By the way, can you check when I opened it?" and they told me. My priority card annual fee was going up to $229. They tried to get me to stay by letting me renew at $149 but I lost the $75 travel credit with the new card. Then they countered with a statement credit. But I wanted to sign up for a new card for the 100,000 points (since it had been more than 24 months). So I will try next month!:flower1:
Glad to hear they offered you some retention incentives. I'm planning to cancel my cards when the AF come due, but I wouldn't mind hanging onto one for the bag benefit if they offer me something off of that fee hike.

I'm a little confused about this. It says that the second seat "must be purchased in advance". But what if Joe traveler thinks "I'm not THAT big-I'm not going to encroach on my neighbor's seat" but the he gets on the airplane and the reality is that both he and his neighbor are impacted by his size. It's kind of hard/impossible to turn back time and have him buy a second seat. What's happening then?
I think it will definitely be a change starting 1/27/26 with the switch to assigned seats.

Previous larger sized passengers would always try and sit next to DS who is skinny like a pixie stick. Theoretically that was smart on their part as it wouldn’t approach DS’s personal space even if they were taking up 1.5 seats. Of course DS then would switch and then I’m in the middle instead which I don’t mind but the person who picked our row doesn’t end up with as much space as they were expecting.

When it goes to assigned seats I feel it will be much more difficult for people of size especially if they are traveling solo.

Southwest is releasing flights up to June 3rd tomorrow, August 26, 2025 :rolleyes1 Here's hoping the times and fares are good pixiedust:
hanks for the info! That's over 9 months in advance. They didn't used to release fares so far out. I remember for years, I would book DVC 7 months out, and I'd reserve a day or two longer than we really needed-the fares were never out that early, but when they came out and we got specific dates, I'd call and cancel the extra days

If the Jet Blue fares for April are any indication, I'm not getting my hopes up that Southwest's fares will be more reasonable but we'll see 🤞

App has not even updated yet and still says flights open until April 6, 2026 :headache: Laptop gets error message :headache:

I was able to book my one way to MCO from PVD but can’t get our flight back. 😭 Also, I’m getting charged for booking my companion a preferred seat even though I have the priority card. I believe all my benefits extend to my companion. Will I need to call in?

*Tried again on companion tix and no charge this time.

Southwest Release Dates and Times updated list.

Many thanks to @LadybugsMum for populating most of the information from before.

This is what I have been able to gather. Unfortunately Disboards doesn't time stamp posts so while it is mentioned in the thread on certain dates that the schedule is up I wasn't able to track down a time for that date. I believe there were releases between 2/6/25 and 7/29/25 along with between 9/24/24 and 2/6/25 that are missing and I'm still searching for if those exist.

Apparently I can't copy from Excel so here is a picture instead...

Finally booked but didn't allow me to pick priority seat with my Priority Southwest card :headache: This has been a horrible experience :headache::headache:

Are you the primary holder of the card?

The seats can only be selected from inside the primary card holder's account so if you are not the card holder but the card holder is on the reservation go in through their account and modify and should allow you to select seats.

If you are the primary holder I would call SW. Of course if you just received the card there may be a delay in SW getting the info from Chase.

I am the primary cardholder and just called Southwest. She doesn't know what happened but she was able to adjust my seats to preferred :)

Glad they were able to get it fixed for you!!

I haven't had that problem yet but then again I haven't had a chance to use it either as the only fares that have been available for me have been Choice Preferred or Choice Extra which includes them.
