Has there been an "official" announcement from SWA about how the new seating will work?
I spoke with an agent and he told me, but I am trying to see if there is something official. This is the way it was explained to me. It seems off a bit.
You will not get your seat number at the time you book. It will work like EBCI and be assigned 24 - 36 hours before your flight.
- Family of 4 books, they are assigned Row 7, seats 1, 2, 3 and 4
- Single guy books, he is assigned Row 10, seat 1
- Couple books, they are assigned Row 7, seats 5 and 6. (now all of row 7 is taken)
- Family of 6 books, they are assigned row 8, seats 1 - 6
- Single lady books, she is assigned Row 10, seat 2
- Family of 5 books, they are assigned row 10, seats 2 - 6 and now lady single lady is moved to row 9, seat 1.
He made it sound like the order you book will
somewhat affect where your seat in, with the understanding that there will be premium seats. He also said there will be minor flexibility for those who deal with claustrophobia and need an aisle.
