Possible to use(borrow) BLT points for different DVC before BLT opens?

I'm trying to use my 160 developer points I received for purchasing BLT. Unfortunately, it seems I am 1 point short. I'm looking to get a 2br for a 3 day weekend at SSR in dream season. Would I be able to borrow 1 BLT point from my 6/09 use year for a stay in 5/09 at SSR? I'm thinking that maybe one of the rules was that I could not use BLT points anywhere until BLT actually opens(9/09), but I'm not sure. So even if I had gotten a 2/09 use year, I still would not be able to use that 1 point from BLT to stay at SSR in 5/09. Does anyone know?

No. BLT Points can not be used at any resort until your occupancy date of 9/1/2009.

Can you do with a 1 bedroom for one of your nights? I know it means moving but it will be less points for the one night.

I thought about doing the 1br for one of those nights, but since it's only a 3 day trip, it would be a real hassle to have to move during one of the 2 full days we have. The thought of having to check out, then check back in after 4 takes away from the "relaxing" weekend. It's definitely an option though. Thank you.

I can just imagine asking my guide... yes, I would like to do an add on please... 1 point. I guess that's why they have minimums.

I wasn't sure if OP had already closed on her contract or not. Sorry if I misunderstood.

You might find someone willing to rent out 1 point. I don't know how often people do that because its such a hassle. Maybe easier to just pay for one night (ouch) and bank some points.

The 1 point is hard to come by because it's so little and not worth the hassle to most people. I think I've almost solved my problem though. I'm on the verge of buying another 118 points at BLT. I haven't even closed on my first contract, but after playing with the points chart I realize how hard it is to plan a vacation when you don't have enough points. Since I can't borrow or bank those DP's I have no choice but to buy more. That's really good marketing on Disney's part.

That's what we ended up doing!

We bought a BWV resale contract, and were able to combine just a few of the points from it with our developer points to get 6 nights in a 2 bedroom. We were extremely pleased with the way it worked out, since we had always planned to eventually have points at at least two resorts. (Now we're sort of contemplating another add-on, but we're hoping to adopt in the next year and we can't be sure of the exact timing or expense involved... so we're waiting on the add-ons for now.)

If my calculations are right, I have exactly one developer point left after my trips this year. I am not sure of what the process is to do a transfer, but I certainly would not mind donating it...
