Is it possible to enjoy the week after Christmas at Disney World? So many websites make it sound awful. Is it really THAT miserable? I have a fantastic continuing medical education conference opportunity the last week in December 2023. I cannot find another four days that will work for my schedule for the next twelve months. A trip to Disney World (our second) would be a perfect Christmas gift for my daughters in lieu of toys. The ONE thing they would like to do more than any other attraction is the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, but will we ever get a reservation during the busiest season? I would love to see all the magical Christmas decorations. Will a short woman and two young children be able to see the trees around all the people? Thank you for your advice.

In the past, yes it is that busy. however, if you plan, and expect it to be that busy, you can still have fun. While not my preference, we have done it, survived and enjoyed it. Planning and expectations are the key.

It is one of the busiest weeks of the year. Will you be staying at Disney or off site? How old is your daughter? What are your expectations for the week? We love Disney at the holidays but normally go in early December, we went that week once and it’s a never again for us and we are not all day park people. I think it really depends what your expectations are. If you want to do it all or it’s your once in a lifetime trip I would not pick that week, but if you want to enjoy the holidays atmosphere and set your expectations appropriately you can have fun.

Thank you for the good advice about expectations!

Thank you. My 8 and 10 year old and I took what I thought was thought was our once in a lifetime trip during a busy week in April. We spent all day at the parks—until close, and with Genie+ and Lightning lanes, we managed to get on all but two of the rides we wanted to ride. I thought I would be done with Disney, but every day we talk about going back (especially to that boutique). So tempting!

It’s possible to go as many do, it’s as you and others have said, all about managing expectations. Lines will be long and it will be crowded but it’s still possible to go and have fun if you’re mentally prepared for that. Going in knowing you won’t be able to ride everything and most likely need to prioritize your choices. Being flexible. ETPE will be critical to squeeze in one or 2 attractions before the parks are open to all guests. Booking theme park reservations early to ensure you can go to the park you wish.

It’s not a week we choose to visit but, we’re going next week when the temps are ‘surface-of-the-Sun’ hot and many say you couldn’t pay them to go then either.

Hope you have a great trip!

We did it in 2022 and it was our first time going Christmas week. We had a lot of fun and got a lot done. We stayed on site, so had early entry and got 2/3 rides in early in the morning and bought genie plus and got around 8 rides everyday from that. We have two daughters 10 and 12 and they can go all day so we went open to close. With our busy schedules now, holidays are the only time we can go and not miss things at home, so this year we are going Thanksgiving week. We hope it’s not as busy as Christmas, but I am sure it will be busy.

Busiest week of the year.
If you can avoid it ,I would.
Due to work and school, it is the only week many have to see 'Christmas '.

We have done it several times and had a blast. It's beautiful that time of year, and the weather will likely be really nice. Like others have said, it's important to temper expectations. But if you get to the parks early and have a solid plan for each day, you can definitely have an amazing trip. If I were in your position I would go for it!!

First off, it's absolutely fantastic that you're considering a trip to Disney World for the week after Christmas! I totally get where you're coming from – planning a trip during such a popular time can be a bit overwhelming, especially with all those websites giving mixed reviews. But let's break it down and get into the nitty-gritty.

Yes, the week after Christmas is traditionally one of the busiest times at Disney World. Families flock to the parks since the kids are off from school, which can lead to larger crowds and longer wait times for attractions. However, don't let this discourage you from your dream Disney adventure! While it might be a tad more crowded, the magic of Disney is still very much alive. With some strategic planning and a sprinkle of patience, you can absolutely have an incredible time.

It's fantastic to hear about the continuing medical education conference opportunity you have in the last week of December 2023. Combining that with a Disney trip seems like the perfect way to celebrate and create lasting memories with your family. The joy of Disney is that it caters to people of all ages, so your daughters are bound to have a blast, even amidst the holiday hustle and bustle.

Now, let's talk about the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique – it's a dream come true for many young kids, and your daughters are no exception! While reservations can sometimes be challenging to snag, Disney's reservation system is designed to accommodate as many guests as possible. Being flexible with your timing and keeping a close eye on the availability could certainly increase your chances of securing a spot for your girls to experience that magical transformation.

Speaking of magic, the Christmas decorations at Disney World are truly a sight to behold. The parks go all out with their festive decor, creating an enchanting and heartwarming atmosphere that's sure to leave you and your family in awe. From intricately decorated trees to stunning light displays, you'll be surrounded by the holiday spirit at every turn.

I understand that concerns about crowd visibility might be on your mind, especially with two young children in tow. However, Disney takes these factors into consideration when designing their parks. You'll find that even shorter individuals and kids can still enjoy the marvelous decorations and immerse themselves in the festive ambiance. There are plenty of opportunities for your daughters to experience the magic up close and personal.

In the end, your Disney experience during the week after Christmas is all about perspective and planning. While it's true that there might be more people around, it's also a chance to share in the joy and excitement of the holiday season with fellow visitors. Embrace the festive spirit, go with the flow, and prioritize the moments you'll be creating with your family. These memories will undoubtedly last a lifetime.

So, go ahead and treat your daughters to that enchanting Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience. Immerse yourselves in the breathtaking Christmas decorations and revel in the wonder of Disney during the most magical time of the year. It's a journey that holds the promise of wonderful adventures and cherished moments.

Wishing you a truly magical trip filled with joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
