If POFQ is due to be refurbed, could it be that they are just trying out different ideas for adding some themed rooms there, like the pirate rooms at CB? Any of the 3 themes mentioned would probably work at POFQ.

i would love a haunted mansion themed. i think before they build a pirates theme, they should just redo the caribbean

I would also like to say that by making a haunted mansion theme in a moerate resort, I think they would totally ruin it. The haunted mansion needs to be an all in one hotel like every other deluxe or the themeing will just be lost

After seeing the pics I like the Princess more than the HM rooms. One of the PP's is right the HM rooms are dark. But this does look like something would be great for POFQ's rehab.

Agreed - I COMPLETELY thought that I would like the HM rooms - but now looking at pics of both I think I like the castle ones better. Now if the entire resort was made into a HM theme - would be a different story I think. That is part of the reason I like the idea of CBR - I don't think that I would be interested in a pirate room over nemo room - but I love the theming throughout the main areas and pool! I think that just throwing in some HM or castles rooms without following through in the other areas would be silly.

Correct. The vast majority of the rooms at Caribbean Beach are standard rooms. There are 2112 rooms at CBR and of those only 384 are the pirate themed rooms. All of the themed rooms are located in the Trinidad South section of the resort. You make the choice at the time of booking between having a standard room or having (paying for) a themed room.

And the rooms that are not pirate themed, the rest have a "Nemo" motif.

I LOVE the princess room. The haunted mansion one is fun too, but I don't like the beds.

i would LOVE to stay at a haunted mansion resort. they dont need a princess/royal theme with the whole fantasyland expansion and they already have pirates in caribbean beach. the haunted mansion would be amazing though! they can have like fog machines throughout the hotel and ghostly noise, and a graveyard pool. it be awesome i hope disney does that.

so this is only for a certain amount of rooms not a whole new resort? boooo! that stinks (i know the economy) but i was getting excited about a haunted mansion resort! if its only a section of a already existing hotel then no thanks.

oh my gosh i SO love the haunted mansion theme! hope they will do that at the french quarter as it just so ties into the mysteriousness of new orleans and all! hopefully they will get some done in time before our visit in february 2011 what a great birthday present for me!

but i think the haunted manion is just not for every kid just like the royal theme is not for every kid-but tieing it into a resort i would say the HM would go best with the French Quarter and think the Elegant does not fit into any moderate resort really- maybe if they changed the colors and downplayed the room a bit to fit in the riverside like a princess and the frog themed rooms maybe?

I imagine the Haunted Mansion rooms would go in the POR Magnolia Bend "mansion" section and the Tiana Royal rooms in POFQ. I LOVE the Haunted Mansion rooms!

The best thing about Disney resorts is that they have something for everyone. If you don't like themed rooms, there are plenty of other options. I for one LOVE these proposals (especially the HM rooms, how cool are those?!), but then again my family and I stayed in a pirate room and thought it was fantastic.
