Possible good news for offsiters and FP+

It was posted the other day that this is on the website....so it appears MYW and AP holders are now in the 60 prebooking loop.

This has been in the terms and conditions for My Magic Plus for 6 months. I pointed it out then as evidence why I thought offsite would eventually have FP+. I found it interesting that there was so much debate about this....

Even longer than six months - it's been there since the original T&C - maybe about a year?

I don't know if this was mentioned, as I haven't looked at new threads in quite a while...but I heard through another site that the plan may be to sell MagicBands to off-site guests (no surprise, heard this a _long_ time ago) for $15 (first I've heard of a price, which I find interesting against the rumored $50 replacement fee), and that this would "unlock" the ability to book in advance.

This would also make it interesting if they make the bands "expire"...

I found this on a quick news search..I thought I'd read it recently

MyMagic+ will be available for everyone else "relatively soon," says Tom Staggs, chairman of Disney Parks and Resorts. Once that happens, non-resort guests will get a MyMagic+ RF card as their ticket, which serves as a MagicBand but in card form.

When they become available at the park, MagicBands can still be purchased separately and will cost less than $15.

Thanks...still has all the vagueness about specifics (Will they get advanced FP+ choices? etc.), but I think those specifics will be out soon.

Oh yeah, I was just looking for the confirmation on the magic band sale price...just supporting your post :)

I have 2 dining reservations for our trip in June. (staying at a non Disney resort, no tickets yet) I only have the countdown and the locked fastpass plus box. I've tried making a fake reservation for April, but I have yet to see the " you can book by April X " I guess this is only for select off site guests right now?

Same with me. I have a string of ADRs between 5/4 & 5/16 and see nothing. 60 days out should be 3/6 ish I think.
I plan on canceling the ADRs one of these days as we have switched gears and are doing SW/BG now. But after seeing this thread I signed in to see if I had a countdown.

Same thing is happening to me. I have an ADR linked for May. Staying offsite, no tickets linked yet, and no previous onsite stays/mbs. I also have yet to see "you can book by April x." Not sure if that will change once I link my tickets. I thought maybe I wasn't included in the test because I am Canadian, but that is just a guess on my part.

I see the same thing but I also do not yet have my tickets linked (waiting for them to arrive from UT). I believe others that actually have ADRs and linked tickets are the ones reporting that they see the "you can book by" message.

I'm going to link my tickets as soon as I get them and will then report back (if someone else hasn't already confirmed).

Yes, please confirm once you have linked the tickets. Thanks !

I only have ADRs linked, no tickets yet and I have the "you can book by message." We are staying offsite in June.

How are offsite guests seeing things, as far as I know I don't have a website account or anything, can someone please advise, I am coming from the UK in August for 2 weeks and I booked through Travel City Direct, I'm staying offsite. Thanks :goodvibes

I have ADR but no linked tickets on my real MDE account and can see the message - now says April 11 for my March 1 trip (for those of us with pre-Aprli plans, it has oddly been increasing a day each day). I created another account to test to see what happens with an ADR for April 8 but am not getting the "You may begin making FastPass+ selections" method at all on that account. So I think they must be running a test on only some accounts.

Have you had an onsite stay with your ADR recently? And do you already have MBs? If so, that is why you get the "you can book by" message.

Not saying that off-siters will or won't get the chance to pre-book, but the MDE site is glitchy the past few days. When I logged in to link my tickets it had 2 of us as already having tickets and asking me to make FP+ choices. It was easily fixed after I linked all of our tickets though, since we do have a resort reservation for next week.

I still think it is a long time to have a glitch that big, but I would agree with you that is was still a possibility based on how horrible WDW is with their technology. The reason I think they will be able to prebook soon is b/c it says so on the website. Now I know that has been there for a long time, but why would they have that written in if that wasn't the ultimate goal? So combine both and I just would think it would make sense it would be happening soon. I would also guess they would want to do it sooner rather than later b/c the busy season is coming and long kiosk lines will leave a bad taste in peoples mouths.

I can't remember the day it is supposed to open...the 7th, I think? Either way it is soon so we will know glitch or not.
