Possible good news for offsiters and FP+

Does anyone here not think that the ability to pre-book for off-site guests WILL happen the 1st week of April?

I mean, certainly Disney does not want to deal with the lines of people they will be dealing with at the park FP+ kiosks during the Easter season. :faint:

I am going to do everything on my end to make sure I am ready to pre-book as soon as that little lock icon on my MDE homepage changes. I am going to have my tickets linked, ADRs made.

If I am fortunate enough to pre-book, I am telling everyone in my party (5) we are not open to any changes!:rotfl:

Why would it list MBs as a perk? KTTW cards were never listed as a perk :confused3

At some point, MBs are expected to bring some kind of additional vague magic to a guest's experience. They are also rumored to fetch about $15 each for those not otherwise qualified for them (offsite guests without APs).

I hear "surprise and delight" are going for about $15 on the open market these days. ;)

Yes, but as you pointed out, Disney has already said they will be selling mbs to offsite guests...which automatically makes it not something solely for onsite guests as a perk.

I define that as a perk. You get "for free" what others have to pay for outright. I would call your apparent definition an exclusive perk.

I see your point. I'm just looking at the email and how it is worded, and it just doesn't seem like mbs fit in that portrayal of perk. Perhaps when the added magic parts are online, I could see it. But right now, aside from fp+, they have the same functionality as kttw cards. Kttw cards were never advertised as a perk, so right now I wouldn't expect mb to be either.

Very true, unless you just really, really like MagicBands in pink. ;)

Just an update- same thing happened this morning. FP+ reservation date for my April 10th ADR switched from Feb 9th to April 15th overnight.

I deleted all my bogus ADR's and my selection date is back to April 1st, 60 days before my split stay (1 day BC, 5 days Dolphin).

Still have to recommend the "throwaway room" or at least one day on-site until this is sorted out. Good luck fellow off-siters!

That's to bad. I am so sad!!!
I don't have the extra money for a one night stay. :(
We own a vacation condo.

So if you stay on site for one night but purchase tickets for longer, you get Fp+ for the duration of the tickets?

Yes you do. Unless they change something, but if it does you can just cancel the room at the 60 day mark.

We are offsite at WH in 20 days (March 1-7.) We have a few ADRs and I linked my UT tourist tickets just to see what would happen...

Obviously our trip will be over by April 15.... :confused3 It seems that FP+ is coming, but when is the big question...

I had a similar issue. My trip is April 20 and it says I can make FP+ on April 15. It said April 9 the other day.... Keeps changing ????
Next week will be 60 days so I hope it straightens out by then. I'm crossing my fingers.
My DH is already set on not renewing our APs. This whole thing is so frustrating. :(

I was on the phone with WDW last night trying to reassign my tickets on MDE. While on the call, I asked the WDW representative if I was going to be able to reserve FP+ in advance of my trip, or if the new icon on MDE was some sort of "blip." She said the plan is to roll out advance FP+ reservations to offsite guests, but she did not know when it would go into effect.

In any event, as of today, MDE says I can make FP+ reservations starting tomorrow, for our visit to the Dolphin in mid-April. I will post tomorrow, if that would be helpful to the forum, to let you know if the date on MDE changes.
