Just in case this helps anyone:
I booked flights and a hire car (luxury) with BA yesterday, flying LHR to Miami and paid £1309 for 2 adults (late Sept - early Oct).
As I had found the equivalent car hire to be approx. £400 this means my flights cost me about £450 each.
Might be worth looking at for anyone willing to fly into Miami - the equivalent into Orlando (for my dates) was £1800. You do have to book both with BA though as the individual flights come out more expensive.
