Possible Disney ticket price increase this April

I just received a Mousesavers newsletter update that says Disney may increase ticket prices in the beginning of April this year, due to changes in their ticket system, which take effect then. In short, if you're thinking about buying park tickets for an upcoming trip, you may want to do it sooner rather than later. The e-mail stated the following:

1) Disney doesn't give a lot of lead time when they announce price increases.

2) The last price increase caused Undercover Tourist to be overwhelmed with orders, which greatly affected shipping times.

3) As many are already aware there is a strong possibility Disney will do away with "No Expiration" tickets, so if you want them, best to get them before April.

The e-mail update was clear that you don't need to buy your tickets RIGHT NOW necessarily, but sooner rather than later. Just a heads up.

Disney always increases their ticket prices; however they usually wait until late spring or early summer. Still this is a good heads up. Thanks to the OP.

I have nearly $1,500 saved in gift cards, so we can probably buy five of the six passes we need (three adults and one child, all with six day non-hoppers, and two adults with four day non-hoppers). We just have to make time to go to our nearest Disney store (about 45 minutes away...close to my father and siblings).

LOL. When has Disney NOT raised ticket prices?

Sadly I am no longer shocked. disney ticket prices and the ddp prices are out of control (just my opinion)

Is anybody else concerned about what those "new ticket changes" will be? It already appears that they are going to be ditching the no-expiry option. What other changes might be coming down the line along with the new RFID bracelets and FP+?

Remember when they rolled out the whole "Magic YOUR Way" thing? They changed their entire ticket structure and brought out the dining plans. They allowed pre-MYW tickets to be upgraded for just a year and then froze them. I'm leery that they will do the same with MYW tickets - they'll retain their current features but you won't be able upgrade them. That's one of the reasons that I'm not rushing to stockpile a few tickets now.

I just priced a trip for our family, including the ddp and I was shocked. Granted it is during spring break, and I could find a less expensive option, but to stay on-site and use the dining plan was ridiculous!

I am. As our trip stands now, we are going room only for a few nights before our package starts in August. We currently have 4 day base tickets with the package. I was hoping to do early ticket pick up and add WPFAM to stretch the tix out over the whole trip. I am closely watching to see how this goes. If we can' t pick up early and upgrade, I would want to change our plans a bit. Hoping to hear some more concrete info before the increase so we can make some decisions.

Be aware folks...due to contractual requirements Undercover Tourist has already raised its prices. I suspect (suspect) Disney did this to stop the mad rush at the last minute. So if you haven't already bought your tickets from UT it is too late. You will be paying the new prices... I suspect (suspect) that all external ticket venders have also raised their prices as well... The 10 day hopper no expire went from $626 to $655...

Wow. Bit greedy now. They are net earning so much cash and they still raise prices.

Disney World Ticketing Operations will sell three through ten day tickets to authorized resellers at a wholesale (discounted) price.

Each reseller sets their own prices. Some, such as The Disney Store and Walt Disney Travel Company, will sell tickets at full gate price. Most others will sell at some discount so they can still make a profit.

So each reseller sets its own prices and do not have to get permission from Disney.

No argument here... I did look at some of the other big ticket venders and they have also gone up. So it is not a unique event to this one seller, they are still cheaper then the rest... :thumbsup2
