What is going on down there at the Happiest Place on Earth??
Closing Pleasure Island for more restaurants, and yet, stopping lunch and dinner services, and stopping "family type" character meals...
kind of going against everything they just posted in the paper Sunday!

I have reservation for a late lunch for Dec 12th. When are they going to notify me? When I arrive for lunch on DEc 12th?

Where to eat now? It is going to be difficult finding something we like this far out!

I am beginning to wonder if they are even going to notify us at all. My ADR is on Oct. 15th and I haven't heard anything.
I agree with the other poster. Go ahead and call to see what else is available. I know most of the character meals were already booked for the week we are going. I hope you have better luck for Dec.

Thanks for the advice. I think we are going to keep Tusker House and cancel Ohanas.
I'm going to keep calling for Chef Mickeys or a better day for TH. Chef Mickeys had a few openings but they were all really early. Would be great for someone who wants to have breakfast and head to the parks but we're not morning ppl so I'd rather have a later time on a day when we aren't going to the parks.

I think this is a sign of things to come. It could get worse.

Yes they are, but like everything else that can change. She says they are doing this so they can move people in and out of LTT faster, so more guest are able to eat there.

Boy am I glad we made ADR's for both. One last time so we'll be sure to enjoy it! We had lunch at GG everytime we ever went to Epcot! My DH loves Goofy's LTT meal too. He might just cry when I tell him no more characters. We wont be going anymore then...

I didn't care for either restaurant but I can only hope that by getting rid of these character meals, that we might get a new one. Hoping for a pirates character meal!

I think its a really dumb move of Disney to take away the characters at LTT. I mean A LOT of people love to go there before P&PP, MNSSHP and MVMCP "to get in the mood." I guess Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace are now gonna be the main dinner places to go before any special event.

Character meals are almost booked for a lot of days in October so those that do not read the forums will have a hard time getting ADRs if they wait much longer.

I read at screamscape that they were planning to open a restaurant in Adventureland name Tortuga. I could only hope they do this and make it a character meal with Captain Jack! This would be great.
I also heard they wanted to tear down the swiss family treehouse and build the black pearl for us to walk through!
Not sure if any of this will happen though.....

Also its not LTT thats doing away lunch, its GG. LTT is just loosing the characters.
