Possible cancelations?

We are planning a trip for the first week of November. We prefer to stay in our motor home but as of now there is no availability. We went ahead and reserved two rooms at All Star Movies. Is the Fort open at full capacity yet? How likely is it that we will be able to grab a canceled reservation?

The Fort is open to full capacity (mostly) except for times of maintenance as they are working on upgrades in loops for some utilities. They also have been rumored to close loops or limit capacity to keep the numbers at the pool limited while it’s under construction.

There’s Always a chance a reservation can open up closer to time. The only choices really are to keep checking back or some will use a travel agent to keep checking for them. The TA’s from Dreams Unlimited that sponsors the boards do not charge for their services. You pay the same amount you pay Disney.

What dates ? I couldn't get the monday after halloween ,or halloween for that matter. Maybe if you move the dates further down into the week? But i did book when it opened up.

If I try to make a week long reservation and it shows unavailable I will then check day to day. If it shows that it’s available that way I call Disney and have them put it together for me. I had to do that for our trip this November, I am missing one day in the middle but I keep checking 2-3 times a day. Keep trying

Thank you! We are trying for October 30-Nov 5. I know that the 30th and 31st are a long shot, we are hoping to get at least Monday - Friday. I think I will try the travel agent.

Yea , that has been booked from day one. Try the travel agent, but thats halloween , as i said , and jersey week. Hard to get unless you book at the max window. But ya never know.

I checked @Sallijo's dates one day at a time and there is nothing at any level on any day. Brutal.

Good luck @Sallijo.

The Fort is open to full capacity.....
Just did the golf cart loop check; 700 loop is closed and entrances are barricaded. No construction activity noted. Withholding sites/loops to keep fees steady (high) or Covid downturn? Not sure.

Well we had reports a few weeks ago of 1500 being empty while they were working on placing underground cable (to support more wifi?). Bet something will happen there soon. No need to have it barricaded if they were withholding sites - they could probably just leave it empty and boot anyone who tried to possible squat on it.

Please provide updates as possible, Mr. Stork.

Did a follow up golf cart circuit post dinner meal. I’ll query front desk tomorrow before heading to Epcot to see if they’ll reveal what’s happening there.

Answer from front desk CM: significant underground work in progress in 700 loop. Scheduled completion date is April 25th. CM emphasized “scheduled” as well as adding other work may be scheduled later. I believe that is Disney speak for “request what loop you want; you may get it”. Personally I’d give them your second choice too.

^^ Now THIS is how it's done right. ^^ Thanks Stork

So it will only be closed for a few days .... like 1500 was ....

Interesting. :scratchin

Wonder if they're working IN THE LOOPS or just closing the loop entrances/exits and working along the two main roads.

Not to knock this thread off-topic though: sites are hard to get for the OP probably due to Halloween (annually) and reservations for the 50th anniversary celebration (people hoping things will be closer to normal then like the MK Halloween and Christmas parties.

I can confirm through visual observation the answers to your two questions above are yes and yes. Inside the loop but heavy equipment along side loop on both adjacent roads also.

when we were there in Jan/Feb the 800 loop was closed. They are definitely doing work and have big machinery. I tried to run through 800 but they turned me around. In general the loops seem to be closed for about a week.
