I was there this past weekend...it was very crowded with the trifecta of Veteran's Day, Disneyplus and Dapper Days (and a heat wave) and we (my two dbs) and I had a GREAT time.
The keys to our success were ADRs, getting to the gates early (rope drop is essential!!), mid day breaks and a flexible and kind disposition. It also helped to remember that many CMs are new, just learning their jobs and doing their best.
We found CMs to be friendly, helpful and positive (as we were). We found wait times to be exaggerated (doubled) for every ride but SM and planned our rides based on this calculation and watching the wait times which shifted through the day. We are usually fast pass collectors and pride ourselves on how many rides we can do in a day. We definitely didn't do as much but still had a GREAT time and still got on all our favorites more than once.
I haven't been during the Holiday season for 6 years and found the decorations to be beautifully done (in both parks), and it was a joy to have fireworks and a parade. Enjoy the small details, the castle and IASW lighting and, if you are going in the next few months, have realistic expectations of crowded parks, a willingness to be flexible with a good attitude, and you will have a MAGICAL time!!
