Position on waiting list?

Is there any way of finding out what position you are at while on a waiting list?

I am on waiting list to move from SSR to AKL in January for 2 days... already had 5 days booked at AKL.

Just wondering.

No it's Disney's best kept secret.

Some question if there really is a waiting list process because many just happen to get filled when you call in.

I suspect there is no such thing as a "position" on a waiting list. There are just too many variables -- there'd have to be a dozen or more waiting lists for each date.

I would guess (but do not know) that the computer just searches for the oldest wait list that needs the group of dates it has to re-allocate -- and if there is no exact match, it looks for consecutive days, and finally single days.

Again, just a guess and certainly not an educated one.
