We are booking our 3rd cruise next year and I need some helping deciding on the stateroom. Any input would be great!!

We lucked out our first cruise and were in the hidden portal rooms without knowing beforehand. This last cruise we just had a category 10 inside. It was on deck 2 and I was more pleased with the location than I thought I would be. With 2 rooms for us all we had plenty of room. I really didn't miss looking out as much as I thought I would but we did miss the fact that no daylight came in and would often sleep longer than normal!!!

This time I was going to ask about the "hidden portals" to see if they were available. If not, then I was thinking about just the category 10- insides on Deck 7. There are only a few there all the way forwardbut I wondered if this was a better deck than being down on 2. Or should I just suck it up and pay more DVC points and get a Cat. 9????

Would love any suggestions. THANKS!!!!

Deck 7 is my favorite deck. While I've never been in one of the rooms you're asking about, I've always stayed on deck 7. We usually go with a Navigator's verandah room, but have splurged for a category 5 a couple of times.

I like this deck for the aft patio (the Navigator's rooms are all towards the aft). I also like it's proximity to different parts of the ship. It's only two flights up to get to the pools, etc. and only a few flights down to the restaurants, clubs, etc. Deck 7 also has fewer cabins on it than deck 6, which is a plus.

We were in Cat 10 Deck 7 on our Wonder cruise a few years ago and loved it. There was plenty of room for myself, DH, DS, and DD. We had connecting rooms with another family we were traveling with who have kids the same age as ours. When we booked for June 2004 on the Magic our first choice was the SPH rooms which we got (We needed connecting rooms since we traveling with the other family again). Our second choice would have been the Cat 10 Deck 7 room again.:)
