Portofino worth $200/night? Pools?

Which Disney delux does this compare with? How was your stay? What are the rooms, pool area with slides, transportation to the parks like restaurants? Or should we rent a two bedroom condo for the same price?

Portofino Bay compares to a Deluxe Resort at WDW and then some. I have stayed there a couple of times. We had a deluxe room that was quite large (almost 500 square feet). Huge marble bathroom - no comparison to any bathroom I've had at a deluxe at Disney. Pools are quite nice. There is a Beach Pool for the kids and the Villa Pool, which is quiet and appeals more to adults. Grounds are beautiful. We are staying there again in January - $227 a night for three adults and I think it's well worth it.

Portofino is better than any Disney Deluxe resort. Rooms are spacious and Hotel is fantastic. Great Service from Check-in to Check-out. Beds are most comfortable I have ever slept in. Three Very nice pools. Beach pool is good for Kids, Villa Pool is one of the most scenic and quiet pools I have ever been at. Food is excellent. Transportation to parks is convienent and quick. Front of the Line Access is priceless. Portofino is the benchmark for all theme park resort hotels.

I'm not sure when you are planning your trip, but Universal has great packages out right now for all 3 on-site hotels. They have the kids free promotion right now; which gives you free park passes for your kids plus kids eat free.

I got 4 theme park tickets for 5 consecutive days and 3 nights at the RPR for $774. Plus the kids get the all-U-can eat pass. That price includes all taxes. If you break it down that is a great price. This package at Portofino is a little more, but not much (maybe $100 more). This package is good until the end of the year.
