Portofino APH price drop for Memorial Day

I checked the rates yesterday for our May 27-31 trip. Originally booked garden view for $227 a night and now I have a Bay View for $199 for two nights and $169 for the other two. They did not offer garden view on the website. I was surprised to see the rate drop since the other two are showing no availability. Yeah, I get to save $200 and get an upgrade!

I'm still hopeful that our rates for July will eventually come down a little too.

While the PBH may be more beautiful, the higher rates seem to keep it out of reach for regular tourists. Plus the walk is much farther.
The rock stars, conventions, and hip people choose the HRH.
The budget people choose the RPR.

So I'm not surprised to hear the PBH has available rooms they're trying to fill up.

I notice this too. I tried to book an August vacation at the Portifino last weekend and the best price I could get for the "stay 6 nights get 2 free 4 park passes" deal was $338 per night (inc. tax). I didn't book it. I called last night and got a price of $316 for the same deal. I ended up doing a room only with a AAA discount for a price of $253 per night (inc. tax). Oh yeah, all rooms are bay view rooms.
