Some help/advice/info please. We are going to Orlando in a couple of weeks with kids aged
2.5 yo and 8 mo. old. We are staying with grandparents who have booked rooms at the Portofino Hotel.
1. How is the Portofino for toddlers and infants? Are there good ameneties for them?
2. From what I've been reading, Universal is not the place to go with young kids? Is this true?
3. Given the above, I am guessing that we are going to be spending most of our time at Disney Parks. How difficult is it to get from the Portofino to the MK, Epcot, etc. Especially given that we need to take two strollers, diaper bags, etc.?
Any and all info and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks-

Portofino is a wonderful resort....hubby and I consider it a just a step down from disney's grand floridian..if not the same....definately a step above disneys regular deluxe resorts. The pool is excellent...you and your kids will love the resort.

While you are there...I don't know why you wouldn't take advantage of the universal parks, both Universal and Islands of Adventure, considering you get the front of the line access while staying at a universal resort....there are plenty of things for the kids to do...kid areas, shows, rides. Just like at disney, anything with height restrictions they can't do...but the kids will love it.

Islands of adventure is bright and new..and the kids would love the Dr. Seuss area,...you didn't say if they were boys/girls...but the super hero area is also great...just too much fun. Take some time and check it out.

Universal and Disney are pretty close together..depending on the traffic and whether or not you have a car or are taking a cab..probably about a 15 minute drive.

Believe me, after getting a taste of "FOTL" Disney will be a HARD pill to swallow...

I spent two days at the Hard Rock and the next 5 at the Dolphin. Waiting on line was now a nightmare!

HERE is a post from the Universal board that Barry Hom posted some time ago about kids at USF. I hope it answers some of your questions.

.... also, how do I get grandparents that can book ME at the Portofino??? WOW!
