Can someone tell me generally what the portion sizes are like at the Parks and onsite hotels? At WDW the kids (3 and 5) usually share and there is more than enough. For that matter DH and I share a lot too! We feel that WDW gives you too much food.....does anyone feel that way about Universal restaurants? Also, I know some of the CW restaurants are privately owned. How do they feel about sharing entrees? WDW lets you share with no problem I was wondering how the private restauants feel about that. TIA for replies.

Sharing is a good idea and the servers don't mind. It saves money and there is plenty of food especially for little kids aged 3 and 5. The wife and I share a wrap of the day at Mythos for lunch. That way we have room for desert. When the server asks, "Is that all?" You can answer with something like, "Yes, we're saving room for desert and snacks in the park." And that's the truth. When we're in the park, the wife stops at every snack stand to get something.

We also stop in at Crossant Moon Bakery at IOA (located near the front) at 10:00am and share a breakfast crossant.

I agree that there's plenty to share. You'll find an experience very similar to what you've had at WDW restaurants. Emeril's is the only place that we feel the portions aren't really enough to share. If you eat at some of the "Cafes" at CW, you could probably all share one entree. :p Their portions are huge!

If you want a great meal with plenty of food, go to The Enchanted Oak @ IOA. You get a lot of food and it's very reasonable.
