Tell me am I going to enjoy this hotel? I booked a garden view room, is that better then the bay room view?

I think I can reassure you that you will enjoy PBH. It's the best of the three hotels at Universal and anyone I know who's stayed there has loved it.

A graden view room looks out the "back" of the hotel. YThe bay view rooms are considered more desireable because they look out on the artificial lake where launches from the parks arrive. Many bay view rooms also provide a good view of the piazza, which is very romantic at night.

Huge Portofino fan here. Head on over to the Resorts board (Universal of course) and there are a bunch of Portofino threads that will give you lots of info about the hotel.

I haven't stayed there, but have spent a lot of time dinning and wandering around. I love this place, by far the gem of the USO hotels. We have plan to stay there next trip as we have already done Hard Rock and Royal Pacific.

We have stayed there 4 times now and love it. With the front of the line pass you get by being a hotel guest, you can fly through lines. It is great. We did the morning at one park, went back to the pool for the afternoon, went back after the pool to hit a few more rides (usually the wet ones). The next day we did the same but at the other park. The beach pool is fantastic for families especially. The kids can be supervised for the most part from the sidelines. The slide keeps most busy for hours. My daughter made friends within about 5 minutes and they stuck together all afternoon. My kids are 13 on down to 6 and the pool kept all 3 busy.

The gym is small but has all the right equipment. The restaurants are great.

After being in the crowded park, it is nice to come back to such a calm and tranquil setting.

Enjoy!

we really like the hotel. just got back from a bayview room. we coule see the boat arriving, so we never really had to wait for the boat. that is a nice benefit of a bayview room. i also think the view of the lake and the plaza is a nice perk.
