Portable Iron

They are a defineate NO NO....at least that what was told to me...there is an iron in the laundry room

They are not allowed due to the fire hazard.
And I can see why, as we were once in a stateroom with the perfect burned-in shape of an iron in the woodwork.

I am an admitted overpacker (if I get to take 2 bags I will) but am also a closet ironer! :rotfl2: I must be a lousy packer because most of what I pack needs to be ironed when I get where I am going. I send suits and formal wear out to be pressed but DO use the iron in the laundry rooms. I take a damp washcloth with me so I can wipe it off so I know that it will be clean and not damage anything I am pressing.

Thanks. That is what I thought but I haven't read anything yet that said they were not allowed. Is there anything else besides the obvious weapons that we need to make sure that we do not take?

Actually, I think that officially you can take irons, but you just can't use them in the staterooms. I suppose you could take your own iron and use it in the laundry room, but that seems like more trouble than it's worth.

Here is a quote from the FAQ on the DCL site:
Is there laundry service?
On board, laundry and dry-cleaning services (with stateroom pickup) are available for a charge. There is also a self-service Guest Laundry Room with coin-operated washers, dryers, detergent, and ironing equipment. For safety reasons, irons or steamers may be used in the laundry room only.
