portable cardiac units at HH

While we were at HH last week, we talked to a man digging a huge hole by our building (#30). He said that Disney was putting in a portable cardiac unit complete with a cell phone with direct connection to medical personnel, portable defibrulator and oxygen unit. He said there are going to be 3 or 4 units at the resort. When we left, they had finished digging the hole, putting some wiring down below and covering it with a thick layer of concrete. A little added security for something that we hope to never have to use.

From being in the business (Fire/EMS) portable automatic defibrillators in the hands of trained people are a tremendous asset. The Hilton Head Fire Dept is also only about 1/2 mile away on the right just before the Palmetto Dunes Gate. If they are in quarters and not at another emergency they are only about a minute from the Hilton Head DVC. So resort guests have excellent
resources available if needed.
