Portable booster seat allowed in parks?

I know that the rules state that folding chairs are not allowed in the parks. We have these little foldable booster seats that we would like to bring for our 2 1/2 year old twins while dining. They don't do well in booster seats that don't have a 3 point harness and are too big for high chairs. Do you know if these seats would be allowed or who I can contact to find out for sure? I've seen where people mention that they have these and use them in the parks.

I think as long as you use it as a booster and not on the ground as a chair you would be fine.

I don't think they are prohibited, but honestly, I wouldn't want to deal with dragging two of them around the park all day, and they most likely won't fit in the lockers.

I would worry the tables would tip with 2 little ones attached. They arent always sturdy. I wouldnt want to lug them around either. I would try getting them to sit in a booster chair at a resturant at home a few times before the trip. Distract them with little toys or snacks so they can sit still.

Hi OP. I think they will be fine. I want to thank you for posting these. My twin boys are 2.5 as well and don't do well in a traditional booster either. We get some looks when we take them out and ask for high chairs. I am going to look into these for restaurant trips and for our trip to WDW in September.

I would not want to carry two of those around all day. My twins dont like boosters seats either, so we just let them sit on the chairs. If they are too big for high chairs maybe they would do okay sitting without anything?

I'm sure Disney would be okay with them, if you decide to take them though!

Hey guys thanks for the replies. I'm not too concerned about having to carry them around all day. They are small enough to fit in the basket of the stroller so It wouldn't be much of a burden. They strap to the chair not the table so tipping isn't a concern. In anticipation of this trip, we have tried regular boosters and also tried going completely without while at restaurants and neither option has faired well. I would like to bring the seats with me IF they are allowed so I need to find out if they are

I agree with you scrapquitler, as my concern is also same to carry them whole day with me, either I we are free to used them into the park.

The chair rule is probably more for parade/firework use rather than in restaurant. If you don't mind lugging them around, then by all means take them.

I think honestly if you are worried about being allowed to bring these types of chair according to the "rules" you should call Disney customer service. Message boards are not necessarily the place to learn about corporate rules and are rather a place where you will get a whole lot of opinions.

My son has a portable booster seat that folds and straps to the chair bbut for me I would not bring it to Disney as it is just another thing to tote around. FWIW I have not seen any booster seats while I was dining other than the restaurant provided ones but I was not looking closely so they may have been missed.

In my original question I asked if anyone knew who I could contact for the answer. I was hoping that someone who had brought a seat with them would respond or someone could direct to me to someone I could ask at WDW.

I go out to eat with my children once a week. They will sit in the chairs I am speaking of.

I was wondering how much your boys weighed? Mine are over 35 lbs. a piece and I was concerned about the weight limits on the seats? Btw, I noticed your ticker. We will be at WDW the same time.

They each weigh around 30 lbs. The weight limit on the seat is 50 lbs. They are very similar to the folding camp style chairs for adults but they have straps to hook to the chair as well as a 3 point harness. We have had them for about 6 months and do not regret the purchase at all!

I would call and ask a CSR at Disney to see for sure. My thoughts would be if they say not to bring your own chairs...you may easily be told no. They don't allow you to bring in strollers or anything to the restaurants, so it's likely you could be turned down.

I think a better plan would be practicing table manners at home and in public in preparation for this trip. (I'm assuming you have some time of course). Try allowing them to sit at the table at home without the chairs and set expectations...a 15 minute meal time or something. Major praises when they do it. If you make it through a full meal then venture out to a super kid friendly locale.

My 2 year old doesn't use a booster or a high chair - but she never has. I find them a pain in the behind...I have another child to get situation and then her and it's not worth my time. So I just let her have freedom. Does she get antsy and get up sometimes? Sure. She's 2. But I just remind her to sit back down and she does it. Not because she's a miracle child or I am some wonderful mom - I can promise you that. It's just practice and expectations and we all know what to expect of each other.

Besides - it's Disney...if they get out of their seat a time or two...do you really think a bunch of other parents and people who work with kids are really going to mind??

I used those when my triplets were 2 1/2 and they are great. I would think it is fine. It is safer than a booster so I can't imagine they will say no. If there is no rule prohibiting bringing your own boosters I do not see why they would turn you down.

I wouldn't bother calling as most CM's are in a call center and some have never even been to WDW at all. You could get a yes and then have a CM at one restaurant allow them and a CM at the next say no. You could get a CM who just looks at the rules as "no folding chairs" and tells you no when in fact it would have been fine. So in short I don't put much stock in the telephone CM's with regard to park policies etc.

Since you really want to use them and don't mind having them in the stroller I would just go ahead and bring them. Chances are pretty good that you can use them in 99% of restaurants. Only problem I can see is that if there is only a booth available or in very tight restaurants like LeCellier.

Just be aware that some of the restaurants are managed by outside companies so there could be some inconsistancies.
