Portable booster seat allowed in parks?

Ok Op, I ordered my chairs this morning. I will keep an eye out for your family using them while we are there.

I just wanted to address those posters who made the suggestions to practice at home without boosters because their kids didn't need them. Remember that all children develop differently. This reminder to practice at home always comes up on threads like these whether it's because somebody thinks their 2 year old still needs a crib or isn't ready to potty train at 2. To assume that parents don't practice at home is insulting. Every one has a different situation but for us, we practice daily and eat out often. Our boys are immature and have some minor developmental delays. They lack impulse control. So until they can sit in a restaurant without getting up repeatedly, we will use some sort of restraint device. Other people deserve to enjoy their meals without my children running around. And we will continue to keep working on this skill frequently.

What would you do with it when you aren't using it? Do you really think it's worth dragging all over the place?

I'm a planner, and it looks like the OP is too. If you bring these, do you know how much they weigh? I'm thinking that if they aren't super-light, you might want to consider renting a car (if you weren't already) during your trip. Dealing with folding up a double-stroller (or two strollers), two sleepy/sleeping toddlers and all their gear, plus two booster seats might be a lot to carry on the buses.

With a car, one parent can go and get the car while the other parent waits with the kids and all of the stuff.

Just something to consider to make your trip smoother. Enjoy!

I think honestly if you are worried about being allowed to bring these types of chair according to the "rules" you should call Disney customer service. Message boards are not necessarily the place to learn about corporate rules and are rather a place where you will get a whole lot of opinions.

Actually, the DISboards is a far more consistent place to get correct information than calling Disney direct. If you call Disney, you get a CM in a call center that may not even be in Florida and many of these CMs have never been to the parks and don't know the true answers to the questions. The WDW call centers are notorious for giving incorrect information. I've seen countless posts on the DISboards where Disney CMs at the call centers have given information that is laughably wrong. I myself have experienced it on more than one occasion. It's sad but true.

I couldn't have said it better myself! I didn't want to seem rude to everyone offering advice but having twins is totally different than having one child or even two children close to the same age. My boys will be one month shy of 3 when we go next month. My boys were 8 weeks premature and also have developmental delays as you stated. As I said in a previous post, we go out to eat once a week. We can sometimes go without boosters but more often we can't. We practice in restaurants and we practice at home. The fact of the matter is I have made up my mind to bring their chairs IF they are allowed. I know how much they weigh (less than a pound each) and I know how big they are because I already own them and have used them countless times. They will fit in the basket of the stroller and that is where they will remain until we need them. I have no idea why a restaurant wouldn't allow them considering they are the same size or smaller than the WDW provided boosters. My main concern is security when they check bags at the gate. I guess I will just have to take my chances.
