I will be going to Disney on March 28, 2005 (day after Easter I know I'm nutz) I was wondering if anyone stayed at this resort. I will be me, my cousin, her kids 7 and 9 and my 3 year old son. I have always stayed at the polynesain I was wondering if the serves is just as good here as it is in the Poly. I know you don't get much frills in the All-stars (a friend told me she stayed in both) so how much different is Riverside then the Poly. thanks for any info

just a little over a month to go and I'm outta here:wave2:

We have never stayed at a deluxe...we have visited all of them.

However...our summer home away from home is POR.

I cant judge this because we have never stayed at a deluxe...but others have said..."POR is a deluxe in a moderate range."

-very good food court- alot of variety
-very good sit down restuarant - Boatrights.
-a very good bar - The River Roost - woth a GREAT performer
Bob Jackson
-a boat to DTD
-wonderful grounds
-two theming section....Mansions and Alligator Bayou

I dont think you will be disappointed. Check out websites.
Mousesavers.com and WDWIG. com.

There are some nice photos of POR and all other resorts on WDWIG.

I have stayed in both and while the POR is nice, the Poly wins, hands down. But if your budget does not allow for that then the POR is a great place to stay, I love it. If you can stretch your budget, you might want to try and stay at the Wilderness Lodge or AKL. But all disney hotels are great places to stay, regardless of which one you choose.

I agree with all of kinggoofy's comments....

Our first disney vacation was at the POLY and we loved it....convenience of monorail was great with a child in a stroller...my kids LOVED the pool and slide....could see fireworks at MK from beach, etc....and, I couldn't get enough of the coffee!!

Our second was at POR and we were NOT disappointed going to a moderate. We stayed for 10 days for well less in price than 7 at the Poly. We are returning to POR again in October. The resort itself (grounds/theming) is beautiful, as is the POLY. We liked having the large food court option at POR with 3 boys (then 9,7, and 3). In the food court, there was a television and large lego table set up in a corner....very helpful with a 3 year old who is done with his meal in about 30 seconds!!! We enjoyed the relaxing boat rides to downtown. Downside....the room was very dimly lit and the room set up offered little dressing privacy (room at poly was set up differently and/or larger). But, we spend very little time in the room itself. Yes, it was a pain getting that darn stroller on the bus!!!

It is a tough decision. We liked both resorts. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice POR was for more of a "value" price.

Have a great time!!
