We were in one, and I only heard noise once. That one time was when the jerk in the room next to us was yelling at his family right outside our door. I never heard him yelling at them while he was in the room - which based on his attitude probably happened often. I was very pleased with how quiet the rooms were overall.

Thanks!

I PMed you directly. Hope it helps!

***For everyone else. We will be enjoying vacation time I have saved up and frequenting the POR/DTD/WL/POLY areas, so meet ups may be possible. From the Oct 4th-11th.

Hi Venom! Good to see you over here! I bumped the POR Fax thread as I had posted my request for your feedback over there. Is it easier for me to PM you?

I'll be at POR Oct 3-9!!

This may have been answered but I have not had time to read through the thread yet, if we are a family of 5 staying in a preferred room does that automatically put us in the Bayou??
Thx

Yes, unless one of the 5 is under 3 years old.

Yes, even if you are just a family of four or less. All preferred rooms are in the Bayou.

Just got an email for online check in. We will arrive next Friday (Oct 10). Waht benefit is there in doing an online check in?
I went to the link and the first thing it asks is what time I will be there to check in. I don't know now. We might leave early that morning and drive in which would get us there by 3 or so or we might not leave until later and get there by 8PM. Does it matter?
So, I closed the page.

Then I tried to go back to the page to see what else it asked and got this message.

Or for some other reason, the page you're looking for cannot be located. Just in case, please check the URL.

Does anyone happen to know if the boats to DTD can accommodate ECVs? We will be there later this week with my mom, not even sure she will be up to going to DTD with us, but if she is we will have to get here rental ECV there too.

Do they also run buses to DTD? If so, where to they usually stop first for loading?

Thanks!

thank you! Also we have two more families of 4 travelling with us. If they also pay for a preferred room will that put them with us.

Yes, if you have all payed for a preferred room then you should all be in one of the four preferred buildings. I guess you would need to make a request on your reservation if you wanted connecting rooms or to be in one specific building together.

I'm considering a stay in the Royal Guest Rooms in Fall 2015. How long is the walk generally to the food court and to the bus stop from the average Royal room? Do the rooms feel small and interstate motel like, or decent size and a little upscale?

I think my daughter would love it, but my husband really prefers a hotel with interior corridors and balconies. He is leaning toward a rental house for our second Disney family trip, but I would love to stay at Disney again. I also have serious concerns about bed bugs after reading about several incidents at Riverside and at French Quarter (though just about every Disney resort had a complaint and the Contemporary had several.)

I would say your walk to buses/food court could be from five to ten minutes depending on your room location - most rooms closer to 5 minutes though. Check out the map of POR on the first page of this thread. Rooms don't seem small to me. All the rooms at POR are the same size.

As for bed bugs.....I recently posted on the bedbug thread, but my experience would not deter me from booking at a Port Orleans resort in the future. As you say, it can happen anywhere.

Yes the boats can accommodate ECVs, as can the buses.

You can also do online checkin via your My Disney Experience page, no need for a special link.

Glad you managed to find the time for a few vacation days, it sounded like you all needed some family time. Which days are you going to be staying where?

We did... WL is our resort, but we can not stay away from POR, or the Poly for sure.

We are currently booked for our 2nd disney vacation, and will be staying at POR! We are a family of 5, and I have 14 nights booked with free dining the end of next Aug, and beginning of Sep. I currently have a preferred room booked, but wondering if its worth $500+. We will have a car, so i can drive to the pool area. So the main concern would be the walk to the bus stop. Would i be better off paying the $500 extra for preferred. Or just book standard and request a room in a building near preferred? I appreciate any advice, thanks!
