I am having a hard time deciding on a resort for our trip at the end of May. (I need to book soon..) We have only stayed at Pop before.

But, I think I'm leaning to POR. My parents are going with us this year. They haven't been with us since my older son was 2. (He's now 8) (we go every two years) B/c my sister had brain cancer and they had to take care of her, they weren't able to go on our last two trips. Now that she has passed they are going to go with us. I'd like to make this a good trip for them b/c they are just so sad.

So I want the best resort that we can afford.

My parents would like a King bed. My dad is a big guy. They also would like a connecting room to our room, but neither of these is a deal breaker.

We will most likely just book a standard room because of cost.

My boys would love to stay in the AB.

What buildings would be best? Should I even try to get any of those requests?

This will be my first visit to POR in January. I got a lot of information from Andre's website. www.portorleans.org We are staying in AB. We chose the preferred rooms because they are closest to the main building. From what I have read on this forum, everyone loves POR. Try that website and good luck making your choices.

I would like to wish everyone a very magical

I hope you and your families have a lovely and peaceful festive break.

And if you do happen to be at Port Orleans on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or over the New Year (either as a guest or a Cast Member) have an amazing time!

Happy Christmas to all! We are enjoying a White Christmas up in Whistler!

Merry Christmas, everyone! We leave Monday to The Happiest Place on Earth!

I just want to give a huge thanks to everyone here who answered my questions about everything Disney and Port Orleans. You guys definitely helped me make this trip go as smooth as it possibly can (save the fact that we're going around New Years)

Happy Holidays! We are planning a Christmas trip for next year, December 19-27. Originally, we were thinking about staying at a Value resort but now considering a Moderate probably POR or CSR. I'm wondering how bus transportation has been for those of you who have been staying at POR this week. I appreciate any insight into what we might expect for bus waits. We will be a group of 10 hoping to make rope drop, come back to the resort for midday breaks, and then go back in the evenings. Thanks!

Heading to Port Orleans for a few days over New Years. Little nervous about the bus situation, have heard the horror stories. Guess I will report back our experience for the next folks.

We've discovered since sleeping at my parent's house for the holidays that my 1 1/2 year old might want to sleep with us if he gets up in the middle of the night. Are the beds in AB rooms (the one closest to the bathroom) moveable, like I could push it against the wall? Or can I request bed rails?
Thanks in advance!

check the first post in this thread, but I'm almost positive they can't be moved but you used to be able to ask for bed rails.

Every resort has bus horror stories, but I feel 98% of the time they work well.

You could have the pack & play right up against the bed, so the baby would be very close by incase he wakes up.
