Okay just had to share-we were lucky enough to get free dining at POR in November and it will be our first time there. I have enjoyed reading all the reports and tips and taking notes. I was talking to my 3 year old DD about castles and asked if she wanted to visit Cinderella's and Belle's castles and she said oh yes and what about Ariel. I said well Ariel is in a grotto but we can visit Ariel in her grotto. She then lit up and said and Tiana - so I asked her if she would like to stay at Tiana's hotel and she was super excited and said she is going to kiss Tiana for letting us stay at her hotel :) - we are a family of 5 so can't stay in the royal rooms but I think she will love it just the same! Can't wait till she sees Tiana and gives her a kiss.

Soooo very sweet!
My daughter and I are pretty excited about the princess theming too although it is subtle in AB, I guess it's just as well I could not have booked a RR, my boys would have felt obligated to be grumpy. Eeew girl stuff! :lmao:

Just curious, which resorts did he say would be included?

Also, I know very little about the new system, but if both banded and unbanded people are in the park, are the unbanded people at a disadvantage? It seems like the banded people will already have "reservations" for the major rides? Maybe I'm misunderstanding the process though.

The only one I remember is Pop. I am also thinking Beach or Yacht Club, but again not sure. I was only concerned with POR :)

FWIW my son didn't focus at all on the RR being princessy or girlie. He noticed Aladdin's carpet in the carpet design, the rich royal colors, the sink fixtures, the wallpaper, and the light-up headboards. It didn't bother him at all to have princess pictures in the room, though he really doesn't prefer the new look of them (he says they just look wrong) (and they do, LOL).

We're coming back home :-) Probably for the last time as the baby will be 3 the next time we go. We got free dining (for some of the nights, still hoping for more). Can't wait!!

Also, I forgot to add that he told us if we are chosen for October (check in October 2), we will get notification around mid-September. So I guess two to three weeks out?

Very cool, we check in 10/8, fingers crossed that POR gets in in October! I know alot of folks on the boards are lukewarm to the idea of FP+, but we rarely do more than 3 FPs per park anyway, and it sure would be nice to have one day when we sleep in a little vs. line up before parks open, yet would still be able to get on some headliners! :thumbsup2

I was able to get the BOG lunch for 8/14. On the yellow DME tags there are 2 12 digit numbers. I used the top one and it let me do it with no problem. Although my wife and kids looked at me like I was crazy when I asked her "what do you want for lunch next Wednesday. Think quick I only have 29 minutes to choose meals for all four of us"

We are leaving tonight to head to NC to pick up my nephew before we head on down to POR by Monday! Can't wait to check in.

Andre, have you noticed them testing the mug situation? Hope your enjoying your trip!
Thanks

We, too!! Did the same thing! Except I didn't even ask my spouse and son what they wanted, the girls and I decided what they would want to eat, if we told them we were on a time schedule we would have been bombarded with "what, how, why?" Hopefully, they will like what we ordered them :)

Excited! Let us know how it goes for you on the 14th!! We go next month :)

Only 29 days till we're at POR! We'll be there September 7-15 for what is essentially our honeymoon - we're signing our marriage contract (that's literally all we're doing since FL only requires a signature from a notary) on Friday, September 13 (we're obviously not the romantic or superstitious types). It's very special to us and we're super excited to be celebrating it at Disney, and POR in particular. My family always stayed at Dixie Landings so I have tons of very fond memories of it! It seems like the most perfect place to begin our own little family. :) I'm hoping we get an Alligator Bayou room - I called and had the request added to our reservation and I'm not too worried about it. Even without the request, we had at least a 50% chance it's where our pool view room would be anyway.
