Yes, it is a real shame, but this is something that could effect the rest of her life.

Summer school starts Tuesday of the week we leave. If she agreed to go to summer school, they will let her walk with her class and she will graduate at the end of the summer. If she goes to Disney and misses the first week of summer school, she will have to repeat her entire senior year. It was an easy choice to make.

And she learned a really valuable lesson. Life is really a series of choices. And my friend said her DD has cried enough and punished herself enough about not being able to go, so there is not much more she can do to make her feel any worse. She also apologized to me for letting me down as well; I almost cried, she was so sweet about it.

We will get through it. Good thing I definitely bought the air mattress; we are going to need it!

Sorry to all of you who are POR aficionados, I know this is probably common knowledge, but I just looked at the floor plans and realized that there are no closets showing on any of the floor plans!

We are a family of two adults and two kids, 16 & 15 years old. We're staying for 4 nights & 5 days. Is there room for all our clothes? What about hanging my daughter's and my sundresses? I'm so used to going to Ft. Wilderness in our BIG Fifth Wheel camper. This is going to be quite a change.

There is a shelf and rod for hangers on the opposite end of the sink area from the tub/toilet. There are no doors so no actual closet.

Thanks Venomhatch. Sometimes I feel like we have so many needs due to my son's disabilities that it doesn't leave any room for anything else. I'm in a customer service focused job (public school cafeteria manager), and I know what it's like to have pretty stringent medical needs to attend to for some of my students on a daily basis. I love these kids who need special attention, but it hardly seems fair to give them any extra attention since they already get so much (it takes more to meet their needs than most people realize).

But the ones who I especially like to sprinkle a little extra magic on are the quiet ones who don't need (honestly need) or demand extra attention. They're the ones who light up when I can do a little extra for them. I'd like to be that unassuming family for once, and now that my son is a little older, I'm hoping we can be. And if there's no extra pixie dust, that's ok too. We'll be at DisneyWorld after all

Bringing garbage bags to use as garment bags is a brilliant idea!

Just wanted to say that you shouldn't ever feel bad asking for something that you need to make your stay a little easier. When I read that you were worried that your son might use your clothing as a towel, I just had to giggle because my son did that in a hotel room once to my jacket, and he is not special needs in any way - just your average 10 year old happy-go-lucky boy, LOL! Toothpaste all over my sleeve. I just might be using your garbage bag idea for next trip!

What would you suggest as the best way back to POR after watching Wishes from the Poly beach? (we will be having dinner at Ohana and should finish up at about the right time for Wishes).....

Keep in mind that we are first time Disney travellers and this will be our first night. On another thread, it was recommended that I just cab it. I don't love the idea of taking a cab - one of the reasons I wanted to stay on site is for the 'free' transportation. I had thought I would grab a bus to DTD and then a boat to POR. But maybe that won't work so late at night? (Wishes starts at 10 while we are there). Suggestions?

If you don't want to pay for a cab, you have two options. One is to take the monorail/ferry to MK and then take a bus to POR. The other option is take the bus to DTD and then the boat to POR. I would think that after Wishes, you won't want to go into the crowds leaving MK to get the bus there. You may be better off going the DTD route. Maybe others have suggestions based on experience with each option.

Was just thinking , maybe a cheap shower liner would work better. You could hook every few holes on a hanger or tie around rod. and it would be fastened. I could see bags sliding off alot. Only thing, dont new ones smell plasticky??

Just thinking the plastic would be less inviting than a nice sheet!
