How comfortable is the Murphy bed? My 6 year old son will be sleeping on it- should I worry he might fall off or is it bigger than it looks?

Five year old daughter slept on it most of the week including some naps. No complaints on comfort or safety.

I have a question...We are traveling with my parents. We have booked a standard room and will be in AB because we have 5 people, and they have booked a preferred room. We would like to be somewhat close to each other. Is that even possible? I understand that we would not be in the same building, but can they get us near each other? Or should I not even bother asking?

It never hurts to ask.

Staying at POR and running the Princess Half on 2/23. I'm not sure how I'll be feeling the night of the run and what I'll be up for so I don't want to make an official dining reservation anywhere and have to pay a penalty to cancel it.

Is it likely that we'll be able to walk up to Boatwrights that night and get in without a reservation? We're a party of 4.

We stayed at POR in December with 4 different families. We were the only ones who booked preferred. The other 3 families were upgraded to preferred as well and we had 4 rooms next to each other. Pixie Dust still happens! :goodvibes

That's just after President's Week I think, so probably won't be too busy. No guarantees of course, but you stand a fairly good chance. Maybe make a last-minute reservation during the day if you decide you feel like it, so you are at least ahead of any other walk-ups?

That's a good idea. At least call and make a reservation in the early afternoon after figuring out just how I'm feeling after the run. I'm thinking it will be our only opportunity to get to Boatwrights and I really want to go.

In general, can you just walk in to dinner at Boatwrights? Probably not over the really busy times like Christmas/Spring Break but is that the normal way in the regular season?

It's certainly not a Be Our Guest or Le Cellier, but it can get busier at peak times - and I guess especially if the weather is bad or parks are closed earler, so there are more people hanging around the resort. It's rare that I've walked past of an evening and not seen people sitting outside waiting for their tables to be ready anyway, but I don't think they turn too many people away.

In September last year we called Disney Dining to try and get a same day reservation around8pm and couldn't find dinner anywhere reasonable (we were staying at Saratoga Springs and the Turf Club restaurant shuts very early).
We drove up to Port Orleans on a whim as expected it to be quiet and it was empty! There was only around 5 occupied tables at Boatwrights at 9pm. So it is sometimes better to try face-to-face rather than phoning the central reservation line.

Greetings. Happy freezing Wednesday. Does anyone have pictures of the construction at POR? We are staying in Oak Manor in a few weeks and I ws hoping it wasn't too obstructive and/or distracting. Thank you in advance. :thumbsup2

Good afternoon,
My husband has severe allergies and asthma. He is basically allergic to everything. Is there a way to request a thorough cleaning of our room before we arrive? Will they use hypo-allergenic cleaning supplies?

I asked for this on my November trip and I believe they called it a VIP cleaning, but all I said was "Please note I have dust/mold allergy and would like the air filters in the room cleaned".
I did this again for my up and coming trip.

I don't have severe allergies but I did not request this at POP back in 2008 and I was miserable. Didn't help it was flower and Garden.

I'd call WDW CM and explain the situation and see what they can do for him.
I also take allergy meds while I'm there.

We are getting ready for our very first visit to POR in a few weeks! We have stayed at POP the last few times we went to Disney and we all really enjoyed it there. This time, we are going with relatives who want to eat table service dinners each night, so we decided to go with the free dining at POR. Any suggestions on which area of the resort (AB versus mansions) a 12 year old boy and 14 year old girl might like better and we could try to request?

The kids are actually nervous about trying a new resort and my son is terrified it will be fancy and formal like he saw when we checked out the Grand Floridian - in his words, he wants to be able to relax and have fun, not have his vacation be "stuffy"! I told him POR should fit the bill!

Hello!

We arrive at Riverside on Saturday. I'm trying to remember what was previously posted about bus service. We are preferred location. Did I read somewhere that if our destination of the day is MK, then we should wait at a different bus depot than South? Does the MK bus skip South, or did I just dream that up?

And Hello to Venomhatch. We used your form for our room requests fax. Or at least I think the form link was from you. Thanks!!!

And question for anyone....any suggestions on what to eat (lunch) upon arrival at the Riverside food court? Is Riverside known for anything extra good at the food court?

Cheryl
