Great news! I've just had confirmation that the long-awaited shipment of replacement in-room refrigerators for Port Orleans Riverside is now due to arrive at the resort later this week.

It will obviously take a little while to get more than 1,200 fridges installed into guest rooms, but they will be starting as soon as the delivery arrives and are hopeful that all rooms should be completed and have working fridges by 20 November, just in time for Thanksgiving vacationers.

(As previously posted, French Quarter was completed last month)

Andre

:worship: thanks Andre, great news!

I'm booked for step next year with free dining in a royal room garden view and was wondering if the corner rooms have 2windows in them too.

Yes, corner rooms have 2 windows. We had a corner room last January at POFQ and enjoyed it.

Has anyone stayed in a royal room lately? Do they still have the pretty bedspreads or have they been changed to the white duvets?

Can't believe we'll be there in just a few days. So excited for my girls. :cheer2:

Does anyone have the measurement of the window? I have my window decorations from POP last year and am wondering if the windows at POR are similar in size.

5ft by 5ft, but the number of panes & pane sizes varies a bit (some rooms have just four large panes, others have sixteen small ones, and some at FQ have twelve). This one is a 16-pane Alligator Bayou room (where they have both 4-pane and 16-pane rooms):

And this one is over at FQ:

Most do, yes. But there are some "internal" corner rooms (such as all the ones in the central three-story sections of the mansion buildings for example) which do not.

Pretty much, yes. It was a gradual process though so I guess there could still be a few of the old comforters around.

We have been at POR since Sunday and it has been fantastic. Everything has been wonderful. We had a few blips with busses and my mother in laws magic band but everything else has been just about perfect. If anyone was wondering about the Murphy bed I slept in it last night. I am 5 foot 4 and 105 lbs and was perfectly comfy. In fact I preferred the firmer mattress that was on it over the more cushy bed mattresses.

We had yummy drinks and appetizers there by the fire last night

Thanks for all the reports! We are staying here for the first time in 20 years! On our very first trip to the World we stayed here and loved it. My most fun memory was when we would come back at the end of the day the housekeepers would have put the kids stuffed animals in the windows, like they were looking for the kids. My kids loved that!
We have been staying at the Beach Club with our last visits so I was a bit nervous booking here this time (trying to save some money ) We are coming for our first Christmas visit. I have been wanting to see the World at Christmas time since our first visit.
Less than a month to go so excited!!:yay:

Thanks. It's no big deal for me but wanted to be prepared. Well I think the comforters were pretty with the room, but since the girls don't know it's no big deal.

Do the rooms have USB charge ports by any chance?

Good morning everyone. Of anyone needs my attention PM me. I am out sick today. Hope everyone else is well!

Hope you feel better soon!

We leave tomorrow night to drive down to POR. Sent my room request off yesterday :cool1: Now to finish last minute packing. I've come down with a cold that I hope the warm weather in FL will take care of quickly!

Yeah I have been trying, But yesterday it was just a stuffy nose. Now its full on "FLU" like. I just slept like 2 hrs gave me enough energy to type this and reply to two PMs and now I am exhausted already. You'd better leave that cold up there! J/P

Oh I am sorry, I hope you feel better soon! I am a school nurse and I had a lot of sickies in my office this week. All I could think of to myself was, PLEASE don't get me sick, I am going to WDW on Saturday! I would think that working at Disney is like working at a school, you get sick a lot the first year you are there, but after that you build up a lot of immunities.

Hi Everyone :wave2: We finally took the plunge and bought points for DVC. What took so long to decide was debating back and forth about staying at our new home resort, Boardwalk or here at our favorite resort POR. Answer? a split stay !! because I would miss coming home HERE. We have stayed here 3 times and LOVE everything about this resort. Never had a problem with the buses, rooms. nothing. Love taking the boat to DTD. We will be staying here April 28 so in 5 months, 2 weeks or 165 days. Not that I am keeping track or anything :lmao:. . . . Now back to reading, just started on the previous thread - 250 pages, then on to read the first 133 pages or so on this thread.:cool1:

Gaaaahhh! Started feeling the usual precursors of the common cold a couple nights ago. Been hitting it with saline nasal spray and salt water gargle, which has worked pretty well in the past. Gonna keep pushing the fluids, too...Venom, you'll do well to do the same, especially if you have the full blown flu. Got my flu shot yesterday, too.

DD has a touch of bronchitis. Got her on azithromycin, which she should be done with by the time we leave for POR in a week.

DW is the picture of health, though, but work has been a bear lately.

Yeah, we need this trip. A little Florida sunshine never hurt anyone!

Looks like someone sprinkled an industrial sized load of pixie dust all over POR! Great news, indeed!
