Ahhhhh, 22 days out and I've done pretty much nothing to start getting ready for this trip! I still have to get my PP+, I haven't started going troughs the packing list to see what I need to start picking up.... I suppose I need to get on the ball here!

Hello TDDisney :wave2:

Thanks much for responding :thumbsup2

I found Room 9222 on the map :cool1: however, am still trying to make sense of the room locations :confused3

Was there a room above you? How was the noise level?

Thanks again!!

Have a magical weekend :wizard: pixiedust:

It was a super quiet location. We never heard a soul, and I am a very light sleeper. We requested a top floor and mentioned that we were sensitive sleepers, so
I'm guessing that's why we got that. 9222 is a standard view (parking lot and half garden), but we don't look out the windows much :-). It seemed like there was a third floor above us, but I never saw or heard anyone up there. And, since we requested top floor I'm wondering if there was noone up there.

I can't believe I found the answer to this!! According to Andre's map on Portorleans.org, it is on the 2nd floor; which is the top floor in that area of Oak Manor.

Woops....I was thinking we were parterre place, but my dh is telling me were in oak manor...sorry! He is teasing me at this moment for still stalking the boards even though our vacation is over .

I'd just like to say....

May is never gonna get here!!!

It is October 26th, and we here in our little part of Southern Ontario woke up to FREAKING SNOW ALL OVER this morning! what the frack?

I'm all whining and stuff sitting here reading all these lovely stories about POR, and want to be there NOW, not in May!

Sigh....

Yuck!! We are heading to Niagara Falls in the pouring rain!

Can't wait for Riverside in December!! :dance3:

This is great news... I'm map illiterate and you have provided the missing piece, to help me understand that section of the map...

Oak Manor is shaped like an H. Only the cross piece of the H has third floor rooms. 9222 is on the second floor, but isn't in the cross piece, so it doesn't have a room above it.

Hi TDDisney :wave2:

No worries... Thanks much for responding and sharing details about your room... Really helps us plan accordingly... I'm thinking about moving from a river view royal room to either garden view or standard view because garden and standard views, seem to provide more of what we're looking for...

Lol... Totally understand about stalking the boards... I personally can't get enough of reading the boards... I'm on here until the wee hours of the morning... motto is "I'm planning our Disney vacation... Sleep can wait" :lmao:

Hi siskaren :wave2:

Thanks much for responding :thumbsup2

Was wondering why that area was to the side on the map :scratchin

Makes perfect sense now :woohoo:

Thanks again pixiedust:

Well there's no harm in asking. Even though there are relatively few King Bed rooms, if there is any space then they may well be able to help you.

Explain that when you made the booking there were only Royal Rooms available and no King Beds, and you were wondering if any availability had come up in the meantime. Don't fax more than 5 days out though, as they don't usually do category-change room allocations further out than that.

Andre

Thanks, Andre. There was availability (and still is) of kind beds but not under that particular code. Even once free dining opened up, they never really cropped up for all the days of our stay. I think they may have set aside 2 king-bed rooms and most of the RR.

I'll give it a try once the trip gets closer. I don't even want the money difference returned (shh, don't tell the accountant DH). If all else fails, I get the room I booked. Maybe I can talk the DH into him wearing a tiara (he actually mock-threatened it when I booked but I told him that a tiara just wasn't complete without a tutu)...

WHAT?! There is NO over for vacations!! We're either planning, or enjoying...and sometimes even enjoying planning an Orlando vacation!!!:cool1:

No snow here yet, but I feel the same way; hearing all about POR just makes me want to be there now and not wait my 98 days. (but who's counting?:rotfl2:)
